    Normal editor tools. When?

How many years do we need to wait while SE will finally deign implement three very basic things, a life/time savers:
    1. 3D axis vector (like in 3D editors) for a normal spatial manipulation
    2. Freedom to place objects wherever we want
    3. A checkbox to the objects, if we don't want it to be snapped to the floor or walls.

I could be wrong, but I haven't heard anything like this in future updates

I'ma stick with the ways of old. It really forces you to think outside the box and get creative. It burns me out. But the results feel....Perfect. Like a journey up a hiking trail, and when you get to the top, you get to look down at your creation and soak it all in. All the obstacles, all the little moments where you stop and see the space taking shape, all the little detours you have to take because the easiest route to take is blocked off. And the end result is never how I imagined it in my head, but its perfect as it is, because I made it perfectly. Its a puzzle in a journey and at the end of it you get to bask in its completion. Congrats, you completed the journey!

I get why people want it. But once you start digging into it. You dig into it. Ive shown friends how to try to use the system by not looking at its limitations but what creativity is shaped by the spaced they are confined in. Their design take a massive quality jump, and nothing changed but their mindset. An how they approach the system.

But once they add in this, its less of a journey and a walk to the corner store and back. Yes changing out items on the fly is easier. But that timesink investment is now gone, there's nothing to figure out. Once you're done in an hour, what's left?

    Nicely put.

They did mention the possibility of adding XYZ placement in the first 7.5 live letter.

This is a bittersweet announcement for me. The first time I successfulllly floated a floor furninshing on PS5 I said "Sheesh that sucked, why is this necessary???". Then I proceeded to do a few more... Then I woke up the next morning proud of my accomplishment and feeling like I had built something.

50 rooms later and I get a (masochistic?) enjoyment out of the system the way it is now and have never used 3rd party tools because of that.

However, objectively I do think the housing designer needs this upgrade objectively. And even though I will miss my creative workarounds to old rules and the sense of accomplishment from manual floating, ultimately I think the change will open up new possibilities and I will be happy with the time savings.

Yeah I can do the float trick, and it probably took me longer than most to figure it out, but it’s time-consuming and often frustrating, so I end up using it sparingly in my builds. At this point, I’d like to just be able to put things where I want them the first time. lol

Yep, I totally get it . Which is why I would never oppose a simpler system being added. Even though I've done a ton of houses, sometimes with hundreds of floats, I often need long breaks because the frustration wears on me.

A more modern placement system I think would just leave more time for creativity, even if I would miss that sense of both designing and building something.

That kinda the idea of the feelings I've felt since MoP but I couldn't point to where WoW stopped feeling like WoW. It was the slow filing down of systems. Everything was filed down so much it all lost its flavor in the name of accessibility.

Its the friction that gives the game flavor.

You room didn't use vertical space, but it never needed to It was rock solid even as a single floor, but if you wanted to get into housing advanced. It was a meta-game you had to learn. Indirectly creating depth to the system. When it takes far less time to lock in a design, they spend far less time in the housing space, for most of the players.

You taking longer and spending more time in the Ward Housing, its doing its job exactly as the system designed to kill your time is supposed to.

I think im understand this point, but also, i would like to note. Housing - is a creative process, not battlefield. My main goal is to make things better, cozy and beautifull, not to complite challange and kill the time. Especially due the fact, that im building not only for myself, but also for friends and for FC. Im have a work, and i had to take a vaсation close to 7.5 update, to make all changes i planned in our FC house, and i really will be gratefull for a simple tools wich are exist in many other games many many years.
Pls undestrand, its the matter of a quality of life for me.

You arnt wrong in asking for it. But you lose something in that, something that the game forces onto you if you want to master the system. Creativity.

There is many ways can brings you to creative, i do believe its not a single road. Human progress has given you a modern tools so that you can reach new height. I don't want to use fingers to paint a picture - when there are brushes.
Aslo, creating of a new tools are a part of creative process, isn't it? Other jobs received multiple upgrades, while my job, a builder, was forgotten for many years.

This is ultimately why I will be happy if they do add a better builder. Even though I will miss the old days of impressive custom manual builds, my overall evaluation won't be made in that vacuum. I will use the saved time to potentially create more rooms or work with additonal home designer apps outside of FFXIV.
