A Wreck in Mor Dhona?!

On the way to visit the crystal bearing the mark of Thaliak the Scholar, my friend said to look at the small thing shining in the valley below. Sure enough there is something burning in Silvertear Falls. Is it an airship wreck, a burning building, or what? If anyone knows if this is involved in a current quest, please tell me the name of the quest so I can go do it.

Speaking of this spot, it's interesting in that it doesn't match what the map says. According to the map of Eorzea, west of Mor Dhona is the sea between Aldenard and -Vylbrand. The landscape I see now is a consistency error, as there is no water in sight from this view, nor waterfalls.

I think the wreck is the one from the cutscene of "Don't Hate the Messanger" after you kill the 3 legionaries and "talk" to the glowing spot

Here is a screenshot. I had to wait until daytime with no miasma in order to see it clearly. This view is from the cliff edge at (5, 15), just outside the cave with the crystal formation bearing Thaliak's mark. I know it wasn't used in Don't Hate the Messenger, although that thing is nearby. It's much too far to target. I don't think this has been here all along because I've been to that cave long before they made it important, and I made sure to look at the landscape on my way down.

Here is a shot of the cliffs above that spot. This screenshot was taken almost a year ago. I think I would have noticed something burning down there when I took this pic.

Hmmm There is a wreck in that cutscene, as you said, but is it possible there are two wrecks? I'm going to go look in Mor Dhona when my return timer is up.

Confirmed. Sorry for the false alarm. The wreck was visible from the ends of both of the canyon's "arms". Case closed!
