    ARR is a brand new client, they technically can't just patch it over 1.x FFXIV unless everything from the ground up was converted lol.

    last year, SE's other game Wakfu, they give out limited beta access through PAX. Test play their beta Wakfu newbie tutorial, then enter your email address. waited "2 months!!!" then they finally send out beta code...
    maybe they will do the same thing too...

    but they did the same thing at Comicon same year... so I doubt it will be the same cus it's not ready yet.
    & SE was just publisher.
