I understand it's doubtful this would ever come to fruition, and I realize the developers may be working on a solution to this, but with the amount of expansions now and the volume of story content that may not speak to all players interested in FFXIV, I think a good short-term solution would be, rather than say, extend the free trial another 10 levels, would be to offer the option of one free story-only skip per account, giving players the opportunity to level in the world with hunting logs, dungeons, FATEs, and with all content up until the start of the current expansion unlocked (maybe a short tutorial screen could pop up, explaining these leveling options should one choose to use the 'skip' option). The point of the existing story skip is to make money, that notion is understood, however, I think this ultimately would lead to more subscribers due to the offering of a more flexible new player/leveling experience, and if it is one per account, if someone were to make an alt and want to skip ahead to the current expansion on it, they would still have to purchase it through the traditional means.

Any thoughts on this or support behind this idea?
