Oh God… People are delusional with Ryne and Gaia and now this…

Anywhere from 18 to 30, based on the expansion trailers and everyone calling him a "young man". Anywhere from barely an adult to thoroughly an adult.
Given how Alisaie looked in Shadowbringers, she's about a year away from her growth spurt and must have been truly annoyed about that coming back from the First and finding her body a year behind where she expected it to be. Which, ages aside, is the problem--Alisaie isn't fully mature yet, so even the youngest WoL would be wise to not follow up on any romantic feelings, should he have any for some reason (I could see an 18 or 19 year old Elezen WoL possibly having some, since that WoL would be familiar enough with Elezenness to innately know where the line is, but every other race WoL would be "holy shit no, she's a child").

JP loves to make their young, non-adult characters behave like they are older, or much wiser than they would commonly be at that age. They're still underage. Big no.
Please keep your delusional fantasies to yourself.
Touch grass.
Challenge the weak to make them strong.
If you talk about Alisaie (whom I love as a tomboy buddy or a solar little sister with a strong character), you could also talk about something that may have flourished between your WoL and Tataru :I vaguely remember some quest where she looked for a role/job to better help the Scions and tries to become an Arcanist, but fails. Then afterwards, iirc there is a scene on the beach where she pauses while you depart from each other, turning back while the WoL leaves and then smiles. It was so cute I immediately thought there'd be something deeper behind that smile.
Plus, the fact that she is oblivious and even sometimes kinda 'reluctant' to follow the advances made by Wedge also makes me think her 'feelings' may be more focused towards the WoL in some way than meets the eye.
Finally, it's my opinion, but I found it so sad that she didn't get any involvement in Dawntrail and since the Scions disbanded after EW. Thinking back about that poor (but energetic and ressourceful) treasurer and mascot figure of the Scions alone in the Rising Stones makes me both nostalgic and tearful

A few years has passed in game time since ARR.
I think ARR-HW was one year.
Stormblood another year.
Shadowbringers At least three? Not counting the time dilation that passed in the First.
I'd say by Dawntrail It's been Four years.
That's not to say "Hehe legal age so it's all daijoubu" like ew no. Nor am I someone who discounts context just because characters are fictional.
Like, yes, not all fiction ascribes to the morality of the Real World, but let's cut the pretense we know very well that's twisting things for bad ends.
I reckon that it's natural for Alisae to have a crush/admire the WoL greatly. However, people want to view that as fine.
I also think it's fine to have a crush on Alisae as a player, not because of her age, but because you like the qualities of her character, which in a vacuum, separated from everything, is also completely normal.
You're not crushin' on Alisae cuz of her age or I'd at least hope not. You can find qualities of a character attractive. She's strong and brave. Wears her emotions on her sleeve. Deeply caring and passionate - what's not to like?
I mean, people crush on G'raha Tia, and he's technically lived for several hundred years in the first. People find it weird in real life when a younger lady dates an older man, for example? Is liking G'raha the same? or "Well he has the body of a 23-year-old so Hehe... it's all daijoubu" or Emet Selch and he's lived a thousand thousand lives as you may have heard, and sired children, is it weird for such a being to couple with a lady who is by all means a lesser creature in his own eyes?
G'raha Tia, for me, is a Kindred spirit on my adventures. Emet Selch is the Hades of convocation of Fourteen to me. A bearer of great pain, I can empathize. Perhaps a friend in a past life, but not my life.
Even I, as a Lalafell, sort of ship my Character and Tataru together. But it's not like a physical sexual thing... it's just I like Tataru as a character. She feels like a safe anchor point for my adventuring hero, someone to return home to, who cares about me and is frugal with finances, is always looking out for me in small ways that isn't being a battle companion. Nothing in the game explicitly makes these interactions romantic; it's just how I feel. A love for a character doesn't always have to come from a weird, dirty place.
In the end, people are gonna have crushes. It's how a player chooses to feel. For me, Alisae and Alphinaud are just my friends. I got to watch them grow into the people they are now. I'm very proud of them.
I think it's fine long as it's like who the character is, People latch onto personalities; it doesn't have to be physical or predatory.
Not trying to distort real world boundaries, or rooted in harmful relationship power dynamics.
I think that's fair, no?

Wise, wise words ! What is needed to appreciate the story and lore of some art that is FFXIV, while still acknowledging the much needed boundaries between some fiction and our reality, and not simply discarding any opinion and necessary rules because of first false impressions or some a-priori bad thoughts towards the OP.A few years has passed in game time since ARR.

Not trying to distort real world boundaries, or rooted in harmful relationship power dynamics. If shipping comes from a good place in your mind, you can just dial the ages to wherever it's appropriate.

This is sorta confirmed by various bits of in-game information put together. Most specifically, ~8 months are confirmed to pass between patch 2.2 and mid-4.0, and ~3 years between ARR and DT. Obviously there is some flexibility to be argued, but figures like "80 years" are most definitely NOT intended to be interpreted as "80 years, give or take a few"
Three years puts Alisaie at age 19 as of DT, which means she's still very much a child because Elezen are late bloomers.
I look just like the roes next door... if you happen to live next door to an amusement park.
Ok, I can't find another post on this. There was a definite attraction between her and the WoL, but in the last two expansions it seemed to disappear. I, personally, would like to see this relationship progress. As to how far it goes, that's up to the dev's, but I definitely want to see it back in the game. Call me what you will, but I really enjoyed those special moments between them. Anyways, get back on it!![]()
