Even regular modders, without full access to the game’s code, can achieve incredible results — and you’re trying to tell me that Square Enix, with a full development team on Final Fantasy XIV and complete access to the codebase, wouldn’t be able to refine and improve the animations? Come on. Maybe it’s time to wake up and step out from under that rock.

There IS a subtle acceleration when you start moving. This is what lets you control how far you jump. If they changed this it would break all jumping puzzles.

WoW, for instance, doesn't have that, which is also probably why they never made jumping puzzles (they would be uninteresting with only one single possible jump distance).

As one of the single-digit people who played 1.0, liked it, and still plays now, I absolutely want 1.x style movement back. I'm not a fan of . I'm the guy who rejoices when Duty Finder throws me a dungeon or trial that's Lv70 or below for the same reason people tend to complain-they're more "boring".

If jumping puzzles or the 2.0+ battle system of moving around so much are issues, then make the movement a toggle, like default/legacy movement styles are. There are quite a handful of people who play this game more to socialize, explore, or roleplay (and they know this, lol mare), rather than making sure to slide their characters around with precision during the current Extreme or Ultimate.

There is a slight acceleration when moving, yes. It makes jumping puzzles suck because it's so short.

I really dislike character turning and the lack of precision when doing so. WWM has that, and it's so awful.
