    Making Gil?

    So, I"m broke. I'm not ashamed to say it. But I want to fix that. Or at least, I want to raise about 1.5m gil so that I can buy the Sarnga bow from the market wards. Any tips? Good spots for drops? Leves with great reward amounts? best selling items? etc.? Any help would be appreciated.

    I've tried googling (and binging) for some guides, but all I get are RMT websites. the few guides I do get are kinda outdated. so, thanks.

    (I'm not exactly a new player, but I figured I'd try posting here anyways.)

    Gather, sell. Keep an eye on the wards, check out which matter and which ore and which wood is selling for what amounts. Always keep an eye on +1 prices as well. I made an absolute mint (well, for me - at least two million gil overall) on Copper Ore +1's and Carbonized Matter at Horizon, and that's not a high level area. Haven't done that for a few weeks now but if you look around at the various prices I'm sure you'll figure it out.

    You did that as a miner? Or can any class get those?

    Miner. If you make use of leves, it doesn't take very long at all to get to level 18 when you can unlock Fingerprint of the Gods (or whatever it is) via a quest, and then start farming matter at Horizon.

    OK. Thanks. I'm gonna try that now.

    With the way the synthesis system and HQing items works now, HQ materials sell at a real premium.

    Mining and botany are good ways to earn gil. HQ ores (especially higher level ores) can be quite valuable.

    You could also try farming HQ drops from monsters. HQ fleece, karakul fleece, effervescent water, high level skins, etc. sell for a decent amount in the wards. There are people who would prefer to buy those materials rather than spend the time to farm themselves.

    NQ items also sell, but the price difference is anywhere from 1/20 the value of HQ or less.

    By the way, you probably know this already, but the Sarnga bow is class only -- meaning you cannot use it as a Bard.

    Thanks for the tips. I got to level 12 mining today, so yeah. I will also look into farming those mats you mentioned.

    And no, I didn't know I couldn't use the Sarnga bow as a bard. :'(

    Still, I think I'd be willing to give up some of the bard abilities for the bow. Right now, I'm using Alesone's Bow.

    Okay. ^^;

    I love my Sarnga and use it whenever possible, but during more difficult fights the party really needs the Bard songs so I need to use a different bow for those fights.

    Artemis relic bow aside, Garuda's Spine is probably the best but you can't buy those since they are untradable. Next best for Bard is probably a the Giantsgall bow which you can buy or get as a drop from Skirmish. The nice thing about the Giantsgall bow is that it is meldable, unlike the Garuda and Ifrit bows.

    Alesones's Songbow does nice damage... unless you miss due to the accuracy handicap. ^^;

    Anyway, there are a lot of bows to choose from and the Archer/Bard forum would be better place to discuss that with more knowledgeable players who pay attention to stats and numbers.

    In the meantime, good luck with the mining and material farming!

    making gil is kind of a pain, took me almost 2 hours just to sorts out retainers inventory, then need to check out of all that mess what could sell the best, check price, put them on the market... the system is just not good

    The Lieutenant-rank bow should be superior to the Giantsgall bow, unless you manage a crazy meld. Just another option.
