How does anyone take pvp seriously?

No dig at you but I don’t understand why people want overworld PVP so much.

Well, there are those of us who were playing this kind of game and liked it. Though for FFXIV in particular, participating in overworld PvP should be purely optional same as it's purely optional right now. Unless you or your FC is flagged for PvP, you'll be fine.

Not to mention all these claimable areas would immediately get conquered by those massive cross server FCs and become impossible to get for normal FCs especially if there’s any incentive to claiming them at all.

Speaking from experience (I led a small-ish clan in Lineage II for a few years, and we managed to at one time or another conquer every castle but the major ones of Aden and Rune, chiefly because I knew how to make friends): That doesn't happen. Inter-FC politics is enough to make sure the most steadfast alliances eventually fall apart. People are people, after all.

Besides, no idea why a cross-server FC would have any bearing here. "Travellers" should be excluded from server PvP by default, to make sure each of them has the chance to develop their own political landscape. I mean, they're free to make characters on different servers, and level and equip them there, but they can still be only on one server at a time. So the same village they conquer on Phoenix, they can't defend on Alpha, Lich, Odin, Raiden, Shiva, Twintania or Zodiark.

I've reported handfuls of people who end with 0 damage done and have double digit deaths (clearly feeding) and I'll see them again a few weeks later doing the same thing.

You are very wrong in that, and the answer goes by logic, you can decide, if you are immune to that yourself, but it also show that you do not take 30-60 seconds to do the right things when actual trouble occur.

Don't worry, those said players will now have High battle rating 5.0 when the match ends because they died (nothing happened) and did small damage enough to gather assists so rating goes up. Then square cannot ban then anymore because they obviously have a high battle rating!

Well if you want overworld pvp there is wow and guild wars 2 for it. Thinking guild war 2 overworld pvp is a lot better and battling server vs server vs server is pretty fun.

Why take raiding seriously? Why take achievements seriously? Fishing? CC? Parsing?
Why take anything serious? Believe in nothing. Never try, that's easier. Lets just queue in and all stand still.
Because why try? Its uncool to try. Its cooler to be bored. Why do you like what I dont like? I like you more when you give up. Competitive passion? My discord ekitten won't swoon over that. I need to lower my voice by 52 more octaves, and it'll crack if I have to strain my finger pressing Guard. Can we all just throw? Queueing isnt actually for gameplay. I dont like final fantasy gameplay. I dont respect it, it's a waste of time. That's not why I logged in, I logged in to find the love of my life afking with white hair and boba eyes. Why don't you feel the same as me? PvPing? in a PvP mode? They didnt even design it the way I would have liked that would have made me the winner every time-your priorities are just all wrong.

If your playing Casual CC, People need to stop taking it so seriously, if you lose stop being so salty about it. Take the loss and move on, people reporting others is pretty lame, just because other people are bad and can't just win the game, it's not my problem. I put in full effort every pvp game I do, get better if you want to take it so serious or go play ranked.

Even at 80 ping, people running behind me get potion on field, the chocobo buff on tornado map, and samurais 1 shotting through walls, snap shot, snap shot that, piss off and etc etc etc 10,000 other problems. The worst experience to do in FF14 for loot because of course, lock away nice looking armors in a mode where it is not enjoyable, but thanks for the game mode I guess, thumbs up.
I'll always do my best every match, because i want this done asap, suffering all the way to crystal. Very good pvp game.
Then I swap to WoW, Guild wars 1/2 even broken pvp games Tera online, Blade and Soul, everything is responsive, no issue. no waiting for my character to ballerina spin, into a yoga pose, into a super hero landing, then the skill goes off.
Nothing enjoyable about PvP in FF14, nothing, but I want those armors so I have to suffer.
I'm so glad, I drink and smoke my nights away irresponsibly because of this mode.
