Interesting thought on new 2.0's level scaling.

Since they're raising the requirements to ~550k exp for lv50, what if they plan on scaling our jobs to match the exp required to level? For instance, all lv50 jobs be reverted to 35 because it takes "100k" exp to go from 34->35. I'm not suggesting they do this, but rather it seems like a possibility (albeit unlikely).

I'm aware they said we won't be losing our progress, but what if our progress just gets scaled down?

I think that'd cause a bit too much epic rage.

It'd take a crafty politician to sell te idea that it's "scaling" and not just "taking away progress."

I personally don't see them reducing our levels if they are being scaled down without the player base getting severely upset.

The only reason I thought was from looking at the exp bar. I mean, just scaling the exp would make more sense, but i hadn't seen this idea discussed yet.

Well Personally, I'm rerolling ( keeping my old Character though) because I want to view this Brand new Game from Level 1 to Level 50 and Progressing through the game in an engaging experience. Some people like to bum rush the content with there level 50's and that's perfectly fine ^.^, but for me I like the challenge at the level I'm suppose to do it at. After I do all that with my Rerolled Character, then I'll go steamroll though them on my main character. =).

If they were to Scale you down to a particular level because of the Exp tnl bar, I suppose I would be fine with it because of the amount I should have gotten but never did get. either way I'm one of those people that's Re-rolling, so it doesn't really apply to me .

bad idea, no one should be forced to relevel regardless of exp changes
especialy since most of us technicaly would have gained millions of exp on top of it at 50 already

and add in the huge factor that it would make most of our gear UNUSABLE

I would not mind, but I know many many (as it's been said already) people would flip the heck out. I feel that people should welcome the excuse to get back out there and level, but far too many people feel that hey personally "own" their xp and have no foresight of a greater-good concept.

What greater good though? Games do tend to change exp values from time to time, but they never change levels because of that. Plus, what about all the exp you gained after hitting the cap? You get a ton but it's not saved anywhere.
