Tattoos, Scars, Eyepatch, Complexion, Accessories & Makeup as Facewear.

With the new Hatching-tide Beginning on March 23 it made me think other options for facewear than "eye" stuff.

I suppose there's some limitation on how it uses an equipment spot of some sort and how it displays on the character, but surely there's a way to add more complexity to what you can wear.

Wouldn't it be neat to be able to have something like nose or eyebrow piercings?
Or just scars that expand the existing scar selection.

Or simple complexions to have a bit of a different shading on character faces or just freckles.

The problem ofcourse being that you wouldn't be able to wear facewear glasses on top of whatever you chose there, so ultimately the best copium option would be just a better character creation.

But I'd still like to see something else than glasses.

Tattoos and scars should be a character creation/aesthetician option... Which definitely could use an update as we're getting close to 7.5 and we still don't have the new DT colors available for hair and eyes.

It's been done before, so I don't see why they couldn't do it again. For the 2022 All Saints Wake event, we were given the clown face makeup as seen here as well as the 2014 All Saints Wake with the bats/spider makeup. So with that in mind, I think scars and other types of makeup could absolutely work for sure. Kind of silly that they havent done that more often, really.

Yup. It's the sort of stuff that would be great for individual expression. I for example don't use glasses all the time or even want to use glasses. So having variety would really be beneficial.

Yea. It would be ideal, but even with a more complex character editor optional stuff for facewear that deviates from the myriad of glass variations would bring a lot for people who maybe don't enjoy glasses so much.

I'd love face piercings as an option for this! It'd be fun. Though that may be asking for too much given I still wish we had more complex earrings for Elezen who don't get enough love </3

I feel like a lot of these suggestions would be best as character creator options instead of facewear.

The Au'Ra girl in the Alexander raid has had a face scar since Heavensward and still no player character options for this.

Unfortunately after the first few sets of glasses they've been treating the facewear slot like a super special reward item that should be really hard to get or cost tens of millions of gil instead of being an attonement for the initial bad design of ARR that didn't let you wear glasses and a hat at the same time so I find it hard to get excited about the possibility of them adding new or more interesting facewears.
