I cant unlock the Pugulist job quest because I dont have the pugulist job

I'm in heaveansward as a level 67 pladin and would like to level pugulist while doin MSQ content. The thing is. Hamons quest icon is red. And when I click on him to see why, it just says I dont have pugulist unlocked.

Now I've looked around a bit and it seems I need to talk to Gagaruna to confirm my intrests to become a pugulist before talking to Hamon. But Gagaruna has no quest icon and when I talk to her she says the same introduction lines. Am I missing a step some where? Is this bugged? Please help.

According to your character's Lodestone profile you actually do have Pugilist (PGL) unlocked, but just not levelled, so you have done the initial class quest to unlock it at least. To get the Job for that class - Monk (MNK) in your case, you need to level PGL up to at least level 30, and complete all the class quests given by that class's Guild (the last one is given at level 30).

Try switching to PGL and then see if the Guild has a class quest for you now (there is a second one upon unlocking that class), then get to levelling PGL and keep checking back at the Guild every three to five levels or so for a new quest.

In the event that you might have lost the starters weapon which would allow you to switch to PUG, look for the independent arms merchant in any of the 3 starting cities. You can re-acquire any of the level 1 weapons this way if needed.
