Always a bigger fish: No dafangshi?

Hello All

Problem: I try to do that quest with my alt #1. It doesn't work. I got more than 35 Ichtyosaurs within the same session and the special hole for the dafangshi did never ever spawn.
It's strange, because I recall that it was trouble free when I did it with my main last year.

Question: I have truth of the oceans and fathom both active. The quest is opened. I'm at right location in Yanxia. Any idea what could be the reason that it doesn't work after catching the 7 required ichtyosaurs?

For info: To relog did solve the trouble. However, if you have more information about what can be the root cause, or if you know another way to solve the trouble, feel free to post. Any input welcome.

Like much of the game, it's probably a random number generator that determines it (rather like a dice roll), it's just luck I'm afraid.

Glad me that to relog is enough to fix it.
