Hairstyle : Can we get more long hair models

The longest hairstyle currently available in the game is the straight hair that reaches roughly the middle of the back, for both men and women.

We’ve received a lot of new hairstyles over time, but they are almost always short or medium-length styles. It’s been a very long time since we’ve had truly long hair added to the game.

Honestly, my hair in real life is almost twice as long as the longest official hairstyle available in FFXIV.

To the devs: I understand that longer hairstyles require more bones and work to make them move properly. However, even with the current limitations, there are already plenty of examples of long to very long hairstyles if you look at what modders have managed to create.

You’re against mods, and I’m completely fine with that. In fact, I’d rather have an official hairstyle anyway so that everyone can actually see it, not just people using mods. My point is simply that the technical possibility clearly exists.

I’m not asking for a huge number of very long hairstyles all at once. But it would be really nice if some of the next hairstyles added to the game included long or very long hair.

And long curly hairstyles too.

I’m sure many women would appreciate them, and even some men who might want something like a Jason Momoa Aquaman look. Very long straight hair would also be popular among people going for a Sephiroth-style aesthetic.

After so many short and medium hairstyles, it would be nice to finally see some long or very long options added to the game.

I agree but they're probably apprehensive to do so because the community constantly complains about hair clipping. If they ever do add more though I would personally love a long wild mane like Fang from FFXIII.

I believe its also a quality thing.
If they allow such levels of clipping to exist, it reflects poorly on them as a MMO. And reputation is still a thing in Japan.

I wanted to want long hair, but after see how much some of the current long ones clip through everything, I realized I would be asking for something I wouldn't actually use, or would otherwise be forced to create glamour specifically molded around the long hair (of which there's not as much as I would like).

Not that I'm objecting to more long hairs being added though, there's demand enough for them so why not? It's just not something I can see myself personally requesting/using because I'll always find them to be personally restrictive.

I think most reasonable people understand that clipping is common in MMOs. It's really not that big of a deal.

What's sad is I've never seen these complaints on hair clipping from any players. But the devs have mentioned this is why they never add any.

So it's impossible to tell is we'd be salty over longer hairstyles clipping gear all the time or not because said hairstyles don't even exist for us to fir opinions about.

I've seen these complaints. I've seen people complain about how far hair stands out from their characters' backs (which it does to mitigate clipping). I'm sure the devs have seen far, far more feedback than you or I individually have.

The hairstyles exist, and they clip. I don't complain about it, but come on, long, clipping hairstyles absolutely exist, and people complain about them.
