You can get 100-140k per leve reset with a 4 man party as it stands now. Wanting to increase that would be laughable.

Organize a static, pick the same levs, rinse and repeat. Pretty simple. Even if you can't or don't have the time to pick up a static you should at the least be getting 60-70k.

They could increase EXP and SP given by non-leve monsters. A hard (yellow) enemy giving only 110 SP is laughable XD

As for what else you were blathering on about, if everyone had to use that stinking skill to play, then either the skill or the game design needed changing. Ubiquitous skills are bad. This has nothing to do with leveling. This has everything to do with bad designs.

RPGs have been out for over 30 years and we still have to argue over simple basics.

I can't help but notice that most of the posts talking about how leves give a lot of SP contain phrases like "leve linking" "static party" and "with my linkshell". Leve SP in groups is all well and good, but I hope that SE will keep in mind those who do not regularly have others to link leves with. 2-3K per average solo'd leve may be decent at low ranks but certainly not at higher ones.

I usually prefer to do my leves with others anyway. But just try finding an appropriate range R40 leve link party to join outside of your linkshell(s), it is not quick or easy. And I got the distinct impression that leves were intended to be a way for solo and casual players to have a short but productive chunk of play time without the need for organizing parties and scheduling things. Of course solo'ing should not be as efficient as partying. But nor should it be so inefficient that it takes a solo'er 5x as much playtime to rank up.

But hey, this is my first MMO. I am starting to think that I am way off base here and may have picked the wrong one to start with.

This is my first mmo as well but I haven't had a lot of trouble ever finding a party or anything for levelinking purposes. I can understand a solo players frustration but...why solo? I thought mmos are for multiplayer interactions? Maybe it's just me but if I didn't have anyone to play with or at least talk to I don't know if I'd want to play. =p

That is an incentive to go craft or gather after your leves are done But true, for those without the patience or the bloodthirsty, field monsters could stand to give a bit more SP. but people in my LS are grinding on monsters that give 500/600 sp per kill. Maybe they arent really that worth going after at your ranks.

Well then I must say I envy your ability to find R40+ levelink parties outside of your linkshell, good job! Can I steal some of that luck? ^_~ Despite having good active linkshells, there have been many times when there simply was no one in my rank range that was available to leve link with, even at peak hours. I can check in Ul'dah, ask at camp, wait -- with no luck. And sometimes I'll log in at off-peak times or at a time when I only have an hour or so. Perhaps this would not be an issue if the player base was larger and more varied, but I think that is sort of missing the point. If you have to find a group and link your leves for them to be decent (not great, just decent!) SP, then leves are not really a good option for the casual and/or solo player.

And I would like to point out that just because someone wants to be able to solo their leves for decent SP does not mean that they want to solo the whole game and are not sociable. ^^ Personally I would prefer to spend my group play time killing NM's or grinding on mobs that are not mongrels. xD

Final Fantasy is a great game or was until this rendition. Final Fantasy games have always been a challenge and right now most fanbased players feel like we are being spoon-fed. Most of us are just tired of the give me patches that the players that have not played Final Fantasy before are wanting. The give me patches are not going to stop the "weekend warriors" from leaving the game once we have to start paying. It has always been sorta like this....If a player wants easy game that does not take much effort play WoW, if they want effort and a feel of accomplishment play Final Fantasy.

    There's a real solution.
    Action based sp.
Rather then a random proc, have it happen every hit.
If this was the case it would open up more party types and strategies in battle.
It wouldn't Favour a set target or set party make-up.
Strategy could change for new targets or new party builds.
Nothing would limit gameplay, force you to level one way or party with a certain make up of jobs. (one healer, one tank rest melee)
The problem is, not many believe it's possible, though it is.
    It would solve many problems.
There's a post I made with the algorithm that could be used.
I ain't gonna waste my time fighting but its in the battle mechanics section somewhere.
Titled "[dev1021] skill point distribution" or some such.
Check it out if your intrested.

Ah, I understand. I do like having a challenge and I want the game to take a loooong time to "finish", for lack of a better word. But if the majority of the player base thinks that it is entirely appropriate for a group to get more than three times the SP as a solo player does doing leves -- an activity that was supposedly designed for solo and casual players, and takes more time to do solo -- then that would be a good indication to me that I may be in the wrong game. xD
