The outfit system should be the default for gear sets, not the armoire

It was announced in the 91th PLL that gear from 7.x dungeons will be able to be stored in the armoire from 7.5 onward.

While this is a welcome change to ease inventory management, I hope it's just a temporary solution.

The outfit glamour system is much better for gear sets like those found in dungeons, raids or vendors.

It's easier to browse the dresser compared to the armoire. The armoire is better to store individual items that are not part of an outfit, such as relic replicas, and unlike the dresser, it does not allow you to keep dyes on the items you store individually.

This would be less of a problem if checking the contents of our armoire was as fluid as it is on the dresser. The ultimate solution would be to merge the armoire into the dresser, of course.

What I think would work is, eventually, all gear being stored in the Armoire as essentially a glamour catalog, and I’m cautiously optimistic that this may be where they’re heading.

Then the dresser would act as the plate interface, with hopefully a lot more plates! But you would select the pieces through the dresser, only it would be pulling from the “holds everything” Armoire instead of having to go there as a separate option.

Essentially Armoire becomes the sole storage space and the Dresser is just plate management.

Add to that, that once all the gear is in one spot, maybe they could work on adding dye options to be saved to the gear like the dresser currently can. Because outfits work just like Armoire items now: no dyes.

Good thing about the Armoire is it doesn't count to an arbitrary limit.

You can use items in the Armoire on glam plates, but the biggest problem is neither the Outfit Glamour or Armoire allow you to store dyed items.

The armoire update is great to me but mostly due to my hoarder tendencies, I have several dungeons worth of gear in my dresser or retainers, which includes 3 DT dungeons, that now I am going to free up a over 100 slots of storage, and I am going to enjoy gathering every last DT armor piece to throw in there as well, ultimately I have no plans to actually use any of it.

I have a feeling that they are going to make the armoire the glamour log for us with the dresser for dyed gear.

This addition is the thing Im most excited for. It would actually get me to play more because I could go collect gear and have a place to put it!
