I am confident on the axe, less so on the shield, Lyon uses a shield because he is using PLD animations, and XIV has historically had an aversion to giving anyone but PLD off-hand weapons, and PLD gets away with it because it is grandfathered in, if we see a shield, it might be just a part of the mainhand and not be able to be glammed separately.

I figured they might go with axes, but I assumed it would be dual-wielded ones that were tossed around like tomahawks so we had another physical ranged (limited or not).

I'm not sure about axe and shield because that means the job would be using Fending gear, and I don't know if they want to make limited tanks (or healers) versus limited DPS. Then again... Beastmaster in FF11 was pretty much THE peak solo job in that game, and given how busted tanks are in FF14 already, it's possible that a part of Beastmaster's job identity is being able to survive just about anything while the creature (or even multiple creatures) kills things for them.

I agree with you, they need to bring back WHM/BLM shields.

I think that would be fun, I just don't think it is remotely likely to happen, especially since it would create a ton of incompatibility since Wands and Staves/Rods are different weapon types and can't be glammed onto each other... unless the glam unlock fixed that, idk, haven't checked.

Considering the wait, hopefully it plays better than it looks.

Hopefully, players can name their pets. Maybe even mounted combat.......(Reach).

The worst thing about XI's BST, is you could not really charm/control anything lol........ Also, BST signature ability "Catch" & "Release" was not in-game. Hopefully, more MONs are available in XIV.

I wonder, does the Goobbue in Limsa mean we'll be able to summon beasts in cities? Or did they break the rules just for that particular screenshot?

I'm looking forward to Minfilia's or F'lhaminn's reaction when someone summons one in her presence.

The AF armor is disappointing to say the least
Hopefully this at least means that we are getting BST in 7.5 and not in 6 months

About that.. 7.5 part 2 is in September.
