Cross World Party....without friends?

I wanted to address a potential issue that I was thinking might arise from the auto-group feature thats coming in 2.0.

First off I really think its great that we can have cross world grouping for content (as far as I know only instanced..which is cool by me), but that got me thinking:

Theoretically lets say my 2 friends and I want to do a dungeon, say, Crystal Tower. However we don't have enough people to run it with just the 3 of us. By using the auto group feature can we fill the remaining spaces in our PT automatically? Or do we all have to flag individually to find groups and be thrown in random 8?

I ask this only because you can never be 100% when it comes to this kind of thing and SE. Is it possible to get an answer on this because I don't think it will be nearly as useful otherwise...

Confucius... I mean Yoshi say:

Y: For Content Finder when you open the widget you can choose previously explored dungeon, content. If it’s a content requiring a party, you select the dungeon, your class, class you need or level restrictions, or categories such as “Want to gain EXP” and for example you can choose stuff like “Japanese only” from pulldown menu. When sending the request you can do whatever you want until the party is formed and once formed you will get an announcement so you press a button to teleport and start inside the dungeon. Basically that’s what content finder is. You will be able to use it aside from dungeons for party contents.

The party is filled automatically. You don't have to invite individuals to party.

That said, if you all threw up a flag individually, I don't see how it could be guaranteed that you would be in a party together. If you want to play with your 2 buds, it would be best to get in a party with them and then use to the auto-fill.

Most dun geon grouping mmo's allow you to get in a party with friends then mark your group for a dungeo which wll pop up saying it's available with which classes are filled.

Rift has this and it works extremly well. You mark classes/rolls you can fill. IT pops up with your grops and others matched to fill all rolls, you confirm and enter.

IN THEORY content finder is a great way to get what you need done wothout waiting on people to log on. However i see it becoming another way to nubfish. Youre gonna be grouped with people more often than not who have no clue. I sicerely hope this doesnt happen because i want to use this feature.

This is Final Fantasy, not Call of Duty. It takes a little more skill and prep work to be a good player. Lets all x fingers it works out.

Still doesn't Doesn't say anywhere if a preformed party can start a content finder, but yeah I guess we will be able to do that since that how it works in other games.

Yes, even if you need technique/skills it will change depending on the parties situation. If you want to take down dungeon efficiently or requires high level of teamwork it’s better to be with community you’re used to. Therefore for content finder would be happy if you can use it casually. Also the finder can be registered while already in a party so for example when you have 7 people already and short on 1, you can use the finder to look for that one last person.

That wasn't the question, or at least I thought the question was "Will the party be filled automatically?". The answer to both is yes.
