I wish for the 2.0 release of the soft, they would make a download that can be made into an ISO install disc so we can burn a new copy in case we needed to reinstall. Avoids havign to restructure files to make one.
Is it me or does it also appear to be no longer available for purchase on SE's online store?

Yea this version is on the road to winding down very quickly.
What there doing is two fold. 1 Stop new people from buying the current version and then being unable to play after they bring down the servers. 2 Increase profit margins by getting new players to buy the 2.0 client.

i was actually looking to purchase another copy of 1.0 before the price hike.. BOO SE! BOO!
Look I knew they released FFI on MSX, but I didn't know they sold FFXIV on a disk!
(Disc not disk!) ... Anyway.
It's basically to prevent confusion for new players, but also they'll be selling the new discs for $39.99 so it's already reduced from a full game price.
It's really nothing malicious, it makes sense to do this, as they are attempting to completely re-brand and re-release the game. If a new player bought a 1.0 disc all the data they installed from that disc would be useless, the process of getting them into the game would be cumbersome and confusing.
I wish SE did a program that allowed current subscribers to mail in their 1.0 disc to get a 2.0 disc. My internet isn't the fastest and it will take me days to download 2.0. ; ;
Depending on how things go between now and the time the client is released I could be in a very similar boat but its FFXIV: ARR and this makes it worth it, while sitting on Mumble with my LS while there playing, me raging because my download is only at 20%.
