I do appreciate that they gave us SOME level of interactivity/a mini-game like the Valentine's event.

Even though I don't really want most of the rewards, I was willing to play it more than once and ended up with most of the rewards anyway, which we need more of.

I thought the event was nice and engaging, I'm glad you have to keep doing the FATE to get items instead of just buying them all with gil right away. And it spawns fairly quickly so you don't have to stand there for 20 minutes, although I did wonder if the spawn rate might be tied to how many people are currently participating, since you effectively pre-join the FATE by talking to the NPC. Also the NPC should probably have some kind of purple FATE/quest marker over her head.


This event kinda reminds me of the Fantastic Fraulein Mumor events from FFXI, as well as some others, mostly because they also have you participate in the event by doing emotes at performing NPCs to cheer them on. This seemed like a pretty good equivalent of that (except those are magical girl stage shows and this is an idol concert).

Would be okay if we had to do fate once then could buy everything via gil, but it's clearly made with intent to make tree farm harder to prevent hoarding as much as possible to ensure mog station sales of these trees will have a good rate.

The art of over exagerating. "A chore". "grid for few hours". This is nothing like that.

Fates spawn every 4 minutes and last 3. It's 15 fates an hour, so 60 certificates, or 20 trees an hour.

With 1h15 of fate I had every reward + 10 trees. I don't see that as a chore or that hard.

I might go get a few more trees, but I don't expect to stash 100 of them.

If your plan is to resell some in the future, I find it totally fair that you have to work for them.

Every 9 minutes. Doesn't matters though how often it is, it's SE's greedy approach that they don't want to just give people what they want and want to deter farming as much as possible to shove it into mog station that irritates me. At least make furniture tradeable?

The fate lasts 180 sec with ~240 sec break.
- 6 runs -> 24 certificates in (18+20) ~38 min
- 24 certificates are enough for 1 copy of every item and 3 trees.
- 12 certificates buy every not-housing item, thus an alt needs ~17 mins.

The Valentione patisserie event lasted ~11 minutes + queue; the number of chocolates could vary from 150 to 0.

Conclusion? Little lady's time consuming only if you have many houses to decorate.
Imo, the difference is that the patisserie required a little strategy and the music was more engaging, so it was less soporific.

While I don't think it's as good as Valentione, I'm still happy for the mini-game's decent downtimes it provide to let me chat with my friend and other player alike at the location. I only wanted 3 trees and everything else so it took me about 45m'ish to clear the event without skipping anything + all the extra work aftermath.

I think the only 'bad' are the story.. which was a bit on meh side imo, and the shirt lol. It's basically the same oversized neotunics they gave us in Gold Saucer/elsewhere but with the idols faces slapped on it. They didn't even gave us the regular nor tight fitted this time. I only pick them up because they're armoire-able.

While I agree with almost everything you said, I do think the currency is a little too low. You'd need 18 certificates to get everything, I'm getting 4 certificates for a gold completion rating. Feels a little on the low side to me, personally considering I want a lot of the trees as well.

I think you should be able to just talk to the NPC and select "no, I don't wish to do more fates," and then the NPC just lets you take anything you want without having to farm the certificates ...
