Set primary controller or disable USB device from controller selection

So I've been having this issue playing XIV with a Dualsense controller for a while where the Dualsense disconnects for a second (either due to an issue with the USB port or the cable I have it wired with) and XIV will always default my controller input to my USB foot pedal instead of back to the Dualsense. XIV is the ONLY game that fails to swap it back to the controller after a disconnect.
I've tried options like disabling the 'Microsoft Device Association Root Enumerator' in Device Manager per some threads a year or so ago but it hasn't resolved the issue and I can't seem to find anything else mentioning something this specific. I really just need to either disable the foot pedal option in XIV's controller selection, stop it from recognizing my foot pedal as a controller (since I only use it for Discord) or set the Dualsense as the primary/preferred controller.

UPDATE: So apparently a bunch of USB foot pedals identify themselves as multiple devices in a given system instead of just one, so if you only need the one function of the foot pedal (like using one specific keyboard keybind for push-to-talk in voice chat) then you can just disable the controller devices it shows by sorting the Device Manager by container. If you need it to emulate a controller binding then you can do the opposite and disable the keyboard device it shows up as (thought not sure why you'd want to do that).
Much simpler than trying to get XIV itself to disregard the thing displaying itself as some controller.
