Defeated enemies wont drop crystals anymore!

    Hello,
it seems I can't get crystals from defeated enemies anymore since the last maintenance.
I thought something was wrong with my log, so I record the amount of my crystals.
I defeated 30 random enemies, but they didnt even drop a single shards.
Only the mobs from leves quest drop crystals shards sometimes.
Does anyone has the same problem?
It's really strange, because I usually get almost from every defeated enemies some crystals shards.
Did SE change something with their latest patch?

    I m afraid i can't craft anymore, if I don't get new shards.

That is really strange since I can't seem to kill a marmot without my loot list filling up with them. I wish you were on my server. I'd gift you stacks of the stuff just to cut down on the battle-log spam. x.x

Can someone tell me: Does FF14 has a rule to restrict player to get crystals and shards, if the level gap become too big?
As I already had written above, I killed on my way to my destination over 30 enemies levels 1 to 5 with my GLA Lv30 and not even a single shards adds to my inventory.
But just now I defeated a squirrel level 33 with my GLA and I suddenly got my crystals and shards.
Now I change to THA level 6 and killed a few low level enemies and I get crystals and shards again.

Does this rule always existed in FF14 or is it implemented since the latest patch?
I can't find any clarification about this rule on lodestone.
As you may already assume, yes, I just started to play FF14 recently and have no clue, if this issue is actually a bug or belong to the game itself.

Are you fighting random monsters close to your level? I know if you're too strong for them at some point they'll stop dropping shards.

I think this has always existed as far as I know. I don't remember it being explained in the Lodestone but I haven't exactly looked hard for it either.

People that played FFXI would know that once you can no longer get XP from a monster that it would no longer drop crystals. I'm not saying this is something you should just know as someone that may have or have not played FFXI; it's simply an observation since the two games do have some similar mechanics.

    Thank you Orophin!
    You just answered my question!
I guess it make some sense to prevent high level player to take low level mobs from weaker player.
I was trying to leveling my conjurer, so I didn't used my GLA for a while. I wasn't able to find any clues about it on lodestone and I just assume the issue was a bug, because I just notice it after the latest patch came out.
    Thank you again!
