While discussing the Jumbo Cactpot earlier today, some friends of mine noticed that when they bought three Jumbo Cactpot tickets, the "Tickets Sold" counter in the payout window only increased by one. After checking the Japanese text (and the history of the Jumbo Cactpot), I believe this is due to a translation that was originally sufficient, but is now outdated.

The three strings in question, with their English localization, Japanese original, and direct translation, are:
  • Participant Bonus / 購入者ボーナス / Buyer Bonus
  • Tickets Sold / 現在の購入者数 / Current Number of Buyers
  • Tickets / 必要購入者数 / Required Number of Buyers (this is a column heading of the payout table)

I think "Participant" is a perfectly fine translation of 購入者 and doesn't need to be changed. However, the number of tickets sold is not identical to the number of buyers - but it used to be. From the Jumbo Cactpot's introduction in patch 2.51 (alongside the Gold Saucer as a whole) until patch 3.4, only one ticket could be purchased in a week. During that time, the number of tickets sold was identical to the number of buyers, and so the localization was accurate. But since this was never changed when patch 3.4 allowed the purchase of three tickets in a week, the localization is now inaccurate. I would, consequently, suggest these changes:
  • Participant Bonus (no change)
  • Current Participants
  • Participants
