    Stupid crafting/ gathering system

    So I am a new player. I have played a lot of mmorpgs. This gathering and crafting system is moronic. Mats that can only be gathered one at a time at specific times but you need stacks of for crafting recipes blows my mind. How is this game succesful with such a terrible stupid system in place. oh and on top of it, we're going to make even more of a pain in the rear for pain in the rear's sake with the endgame crafting being even more moronic. Just because you don't want to be a typical mmo, doesn't make it a good idea to make it a painstaking process for the player. Again so stupid. Wow

    Strange considering the crafting system is usually held up as one of this games biggest strengths even by people who don’t play 14

    The gathering system is designed so that the higher level you are the more you can collect per node and the crafting system turns it into a minigame with lots of skills (even if macros sorta trivialise it)

    Crafting and gathering is one of the few systems I honestly wouldn’t change in this game

    As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.

    I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess

    There's a checkbox below the 8 slots that can hold items that you can turn on to automatically gather as much as you can from each node (of that type). This is for Botany and Mining, Fishing is different both in polefishing and in spearfishing and this would not make sense. With polefishing you get double/triple hook as you level up to catch more fish at once, with spearfishing you can time your thrusts to hit 2+ fish at once.

    What is stupid about endgame crafting? Crafting classes are "full" classes here, so of course they have 20-30 abilities like combat classes do. It's not just a button you press as a side activity, it's something you ... do. Instead of running around healing people as a Scholar, basically.
