There's a checkbox below the 8 slots that can hold items that you can turn on to automatically gather as much as you can from each node (of that type). This is for Botany and Mining, Fishing is different both in polefishing and in spearfishing and this would not make sense. With polefishing you get double/triple hook as you level up to catch more fish at once, with spearfishing you can time your thrusts to hit 2+ fish at once.

What is stupid about endgame crafting? Crafting classes are "full" classes here, so of course they have 20-30 abilities like combat classes do. It's not just a button you press as a side activity, it's something you ... do. Instead of running around healing people as a Scholar, basically.
