Thread: 8.0 Suggestion: Artifact Mount

Players have been looking for more long term grind goals and have seen some success here and there with relic weapons. What if the expansion also introduced an artifact mount? A mount that each patch has a grind associated with it that will unlock a new, more impressive looking set of armor or design for it. And since theres no power tied to it they can make the grind as long as they want. Maybe let the NPC you get it from allow you to revert it back to previous designs.

We could call it Chocobo Barding.

A mount that you could design like the dragons in WoW would be neat. The chocobo stuff is really stale imo. Maybe if they added to it, that would be better, but it's a pain to dye the thing and most barding is pretty meh. But that's the case for most mounts in XIV unfortunately (again, imo).

Adding something to do for people that are not interested in the power grind would definitely be a plus in my book. Depending on the sort of grind, that is - personally I prefer deterministic grinds, or at least some bad luck protection.

Chocobos are overrated. I think it's time we have something cooler rather than sticking to Chocobos just because they're the 'signature'

I want them to do more with mounts but I feel like outside of expansion launch I never use them enough to justify grinding them out.

Gathering, FATEs, hunts…

You could add any sort of grind but it would soon be obsolete and easy due to botting.
