Term Filter Limitations

I'm not sure who designed the Term Filter system or how it made it through testing but it is horrible in execution.

There desperately needs to be the ability to block shorter strings of characters ('DJ' anyone?) as well as the removal of it being capitalization dependent.

The venue spam and RMT spam that takes place in almost every zone now have been reworked to bypass the Term Filter because of these obvious shortcomings.

Something as small as 'GIVEAWAY' will bypass Term Filter entries for 'giveaway' 'Giveaway', and 'iveaway'.

With it being capitalization dependent how am I expected to be able to block this type of chat spam when people are hitting every server of every DC (I've seen Aether event postings on Oceania!) to the point of needed 3-6 slots for a single word?

You can also blacklist the advertising characters.

Reminded me how I went to datacenter travel to light and afk at one point when my friend went to raid.

And in the 6 PM and 1 AM window someone with their level 90 skip armor (glamoured) was messaging the same venue advertisement and teleporting to every city and world in Light DC every 11-13 minutes except for Solution Nine to the point I decided to just block the whole players advertising the same venue that day.
(I could see the world changes from the PF recruitment window, if unable to check city in player search)

I wouldn't go that far, let the people have fun the way they want to have fun, there is no reason to immediately forbid everything for everyone just because others don't like it, SE just needs a better systems in the game which helps us block advertisements ~
Shouldn't be that hard for SE find someone who can do that, when some random out there can write a small plugin which block every advertisement without the need of going through the hassle of typing in some terms which are useless a few days later anyway.

Agreed.

In general I'm fine with the posts themselves! The game has an RP tag toggle for a reason and sometimes it's fun to see the events and houses.

It's just increasingly annoying when the Term Filter is just so ineffective when someone does want to block these messages.

Are you saying you DON'T want to get on a voice chat call with 50+ strangers to listen to "DJ Cat Swag 5000" play his streaming playlist while looping the same three emotes in-game for hours on end?

I can't believe someone wouldn't find this to be an exhilarating experience!

I frankly think they should just revamp Fellowships, relegate all ads of this kind in there and then ban it from chat. That would presumably satisfy everyone, because I doubt SE if physically capable of making a functional term filter at this point. Like, these advertisements are so disruptive that I always end up running off to another city eventually. So... do I want the venues gone? No. But advertising should have its own avoidable location.
