Is Beastmaster an expansion feature at this point?

Then it wouldn't be BLU any more. It'd just be a basic DPS Mage who learns spells via levelling up ("learning" spells you would see in the MSQ duties/dungeons/trials, whether you did them or not as BLU when hitting X level). The whole point of BLU has always been learning/collecting spells from monsters.

I don't get why they're so secretive about it.

It's just gonna end up like Blue Mage, only a niche community will actively engage with it.


The die hard achievement collectors will get the raid achievements for it then it'll die out like BLU has.

Legit question.
If an "expansion feature" comes at or near the tail end of an expansion, is it really a feature anymore?

Regardless of the opinions on Limited Jobs, that's not the point.

The point is does this or any other highlighted feature count as such at the END of the expansion.

Added: I would still make the same argument even if it was, cosmic exploration, variant dungeon, or the unfortunately dead content, Island Sanctuary.

ANY content that is a Highlighted feature should not be when an expansion is basically over. It is NOT for "lull periods", small busy work content like Moggle-tome, and event is for lull points.

I wanted BM to come out in 7.2 which was technically our weakest patch with the least amount of content.
It didn't.

So yes it is really lame.
But I try not to dwell on things I can't control.

It's not an issue about that. Issue is that they are constantly baiting people with things that never happen at the start of expansion but much much later. What's the point of them telling us every single time: "oh here's a cool thing in this expansion!!!" , only to then hear: "but it's coming 2 years later". I don't get that hype that they're creating. This makes people cool off and then nobody will get happy when the actual thing even releases.

Why are people surprised that they are releasing it exactly like Blue Mage? You need some content to put into the x.5 cycle and limited jobs are sort of ideal for that since they are nice solo content you can potentially put a lot of hours into.

To be fair though - Yoshi made it pretty clear from the get go that Beastmaster was a "latter end of the expansion" addition.

Which is what the .4 and .5 cycles are... the latter end of an expansion.
