There is nothing for the trusts to "understand". The fights are scripted and when 7 out of 8 characters are AI controlled programming their reactions shouldn't be any harder than treating them as part of the mechanics themselves. They only have to code the trusts' choreography for it.I doubt they'll go back and add Trust/Duty Support to the MSQ Trials just because they won't improve the AI of the trusts to do more than the absolute bare minimum. That would mean changing mechanics as, again, FF XIV's trusts are barebones in terms of understanding mechanics.
Instead of Leveling roulette, the current relic should've used Trial roulette instead to incentivize participation. All Leveling dungeons have duty support now I believe(?), so there wasn't as much a need to re-incentivize it. And Trial Roulette rewards are already pathetic in comparison to the other roulettes, especially as they add ilvl sync to trials, making them take longer than say Normal Raid.
At worst they would have to include conditionals based on what role the player has.
Try data center traveling to the full server on your region
Unfortaunetly the only solution til they make it queues in DF region wide.
Making solo instance or trust system would mean simplifying all trials boss mechanics when trust system AI is so bad that they can't handle any little bit more complex mechanics.
So instead heavily simplifying all trials boss mechiancs just for trust system, they really needs to make completely seperate version of trials with own mechanics and call it a story mode and same thing they need to do with dungeons needed for main story too.
Or they could just auto-complete the trial after you waited 1+ hours in DF.
When someone wants to play them, they can find a way to do so.
And if someone does not want to play them, why not just let them skip it? It's not like normal trials are the epitome of gameplay. Not blocking people on dead data centers from finishing the MSQ for 8 hours sounds like a no-brainer to me.

Unfortunately some people would rather dead DCs stay dead. Half the suggestions here were "travel to the most populated DC, leave yours to keep rotting". And this isn't even for high-end raiding, it's for basic MSQ progress.Or they could just auto-complete the trial after you waited 1+ hours in DF.

Square-Enix either needs to stop making MSQ trials, make the MSQ ones doable with Trusts, or make story mode variants of trials while leaving the originals intact. The developers (and some players) insistence that the story should be gated behind group content only works when there's ACTUALLY people to group with. It falls apart completely once someone is trying to do the content on dead data centers or during non-peak hours, where the only other option is for someone to wait a couple of expansions to go back and do it unsync solo (assuming the trial has solo-friendly mechanics).

The actual fix they should be doing is make a cross-DC partyfinder so DCs aren't disproportionately populated but who knows when that'll be, so DC travel's kind of the only solution at the moment
I sure as hell don't want trials to be demolished by duty support at least.
Weird...another case where the roulette fails to "help people sitting in queues." #PleaseUnderstand
