Allied Societies is ugly language. Please make them Beast Tribes again.

Pretty sure they are referring to the fact that the term 'Beastman' is an In Universe slur specifically created and coined by the Ul'dahn Merchants in an attempt to alienate people against the more bestial appearing races such as the Amal'jaa, Kobolds, Ixali, Sylphs, Qiqirn, and others. This was to keep them from competing against Ul'dahn merchants who had managed to essentially corner the market on resources that these other races would normally compete in.

This is correct, if anyone is curious to the source of this, it's from Encyclopedia Eorzea II, to quote the relevant part:

In the year 1559th year [sic] of the Sixth Astral Era, the sultanate of Ul'dah, under heavy influence by the Syndicate, officially coined the term "beast tribe," using it to describe those "foreign" entities whose interests directly oppose or interfere with those of the city-state. Amalj'aa were declared enemies of the people for opposing expansionist policies that saw the tribe's traditional homeland divided up by mining concerns. Citing the protection of "local interests," evictions were issued for Qiqirn, goblin, and sylph traders, and all dealing with the victims of circumstance strictly prohibited. The Syndicated had swiftly and effectively sown a national distrust in entire races so as to create a diversion that they may profit in the confusion--a distrust that remains to this day, and has become accepted amongst even our most educated. Yet, as stated above, if there is naught that separates our peoples beyond a term born of convenience and fostered in self-serving sanctimony, then does that not make us beast for insisting that these, our brothers, are in some way beneath us? Are we Eorzeans so insecure that we must continue this practice which historians will almost certainly look back upon with both disgust and disbelief?

Can see the reasoning but it sounds and looks absolutely stilted as a feature name, no doubt. I can see why it rubs people the wrong way.

Culture Quests? Kindred Quests? Diplomatic Delves? There has to be something that feels better to say, surely? XD

All of yout suggstions are better than Allied Societies.

Beast Tribes wouldn't really fit them anymore... But I do think they should have just kept them as Tribes.

Seeker miqo'tes and Xaela au ras organize themselves into tibes, so surely being part of tribe isn't problem.

Also, I made observation: "Beast Tribes" are gone from auto-translate, while being the word they are called by before Endwalker.
But "beastman" is still there.

It wasn't dropped due to being a possible in-universe slur as more just being completely redundant in EW with the likes of the Omicronions who are of course robots, and the Arkskadora who are basically just another race of humanoid people (at least they're considered that way in Thavnair), to use just two examples.

So 'beast tribe' was no longer relevant at all, and another term needed to be used. (And if we're really going to be pendantic, the very term 'beast tribe' was a legacy of FFXI where the term 'beastman' came from, and there the beast tribes were certainly not friendly, save for the odd goblin or qiqirn here or there).

I just wish the English localizers would have picked something that rolled off the tongue better.

"Beast Tribes". Two syllables, succinct.
"Allied Societies". Six syllables, trying too hard.

I'd be more accepting of the change if they just called them "communities" or something.
