NA DC Constant DDOS & Disconnects

We’ve been dealing with near-daily DDoS attacks for over a year. Gameplay is constantly interrupted by mass disconnects, and many players report multiple attacks in a single day. The frequency has increased noticeably since late 2025.

While Square Enix acknowledges large-scale DDoS attacks, their responses have not been sufficient to provide a stable experience for the general player base on a day-to-day basis.

It’s past time for more consistent action to ensure players can enjoy the game without constant interruptions.

I’m not sure if frequently reporting these incidents collectively will lead to stronger mitigation, but I hope that by documenting and sharing the impact, the community can help push for meaningful improvements.

And, if we’re dreaming… maybe a free Emet-Selch mount as a small token gesture for putting up with this chaos wouldn’t hurt.

Have they happened again? I thought they had seemed to stop for some time now. Was mostly on Savage release week.

It was a pretty regular problem from 7.4 release to Savage release, substantially worse on Savage release week, and has still been happening intermittently since then. Including some issues this morning I think? It’s better but it’s not solved.

I noticed slight GCD flickers earlier, but nothing significant because I'm using a VPN. Haven't seen parties disconnecting.

No vpn, no lag killa 2000!, and literally no idea this was a problem, because literally nobody in the game has even mentioned it. Only ever hear about it here and on YouTube. BUT I did notice one thing consistent along with almost all of these gripes: vpn and lag killers are being sold as the solution. The ddos thing is real and has affected players, but holy moley people…. Get a grip.

It's improved a lot.

I don't have a VPN.

I did a mass leveling roulette for my relic from 4pm to 2am and I only got 90k'd once.

Yeah it was annoying once but it's a substantial improvement.

Yes, still happening for us in the NA DCs and sometimes even the free Cloudflare WARP can't save me that day too

I can p much tell if suddenly during the content when no one is moving, or it freezes that I have a 50% chance of being kicked out even if I use my backup WARP on every day.

I been having sporadic issues, but none of it seem related to DDoS, you can usually tell when a DDoS happens because there will be an unusually long, 200+, login que when you try to relog, I just assumed it was my connection messing up, or a node somewhere freaking out.

Hasn't happened personally since savage week. My personal net had issues, but not the game. People still experiencing issues, I wonder if they have the same isp, or other things in common? Older neighborhoods, aged cable wiring...? seems like it would effect all internet activity but you'd be surprised.
