The trouble with behests

Whenever I was doing Behest for my Achievement, if somebody else was running the Behest, I'd let them get the first hit, or aggro the mobs; and then AoE the mobs before they could kill that person. Being on WHM helped with Stoneskin/Protect/Regen (it doesn't scale). This allowed them to survive and get a ton of EXP as well!

I think it's unfair to judge Sargatanas populace because of them people. There are many cruel people in the game who won't help others because they are "above" them. It's rather sick, and I like to strike that elite-ism down with a mighty force everytime I see it. I encourage others to do the same!

I'm in the middle of going for this Achievement (along with Leves everywhere, too) but I didn't realize how it affected lower-level players. Good to know.

Would it be preferable for a 50 to sit out entirely (while still part of the Behest) in order to let lower-level players kill at their own pace?

Its true, we've got some VERY nice people, and then some total jerks.

That's probably true on most servers. ^^;

It doesn't seem like much can be done about the situation, except to /say that you'd like the chance to claim the monster for EXP and hope they are not a jerk about it.

No, because you joining makes the behest more difficult. If you should join, you should let low levels take claim, and then help kill the mob, so the low level gets the exp.

Communication in that particular situation is the key. Some people may just want the EXP, so as long as they have the claim they would be happy for the R50 to finish off the monster quickly... but this is akin to power leveling so people will have different opinions on it. Others may actually want to do the behest and fight it out for themselves.

No one will know unless the person says what they are trying to do, and hopefully the level capped player will respect that.

That's really too bad. At least you tried, and I wish you better luck next time.

Many players are eager for v2.0 to come out, but the deadline to get things done has put the community in a bit of a tight situation. These conflicting interests are an unfortunate side effect.

I've been doing the Behest achievements the past couple weeks...and I'm getting so sick of people because of it. I always let the lower level player get claim on mobs first before I nuke them, as well as Stoneskin/Protect them...yet there's always that one butthole who shows up and kills everything before the person without a mount can even get there.

Today, I was doing Iron Lake...and a level 42 Archer was doing them. She refused to join up with me, yet had no problem relying on me to kill them. I have no problem helping others...but I hate when my help is seen as required. I didn't even get a 'Thank You' from them.

I cannot wait to have these achievements done with.
