but it is about the speed run mechanic, most groups need to spam the dungeons over and over again to get the speed run down, which is a requirement to get all of the chests, which also have a shitty drop rate. With the way the content is set up now, it's all connected. Who cares for just 'any old win' when all the chests don't pop unless you get the speed run win?
I was reading the OP post but I don't see where it says Speed Runs are going to be removed... it is said raids will have many different settings ...and I understand that like: "we will add new features to make it more enjoyable for more players" rather than "we will remove a feature and make it easier"
Speed runs are a pain for some players (like me lol) without a static/constant group to practice them because ~trying to do speed runs with pickups is ultimate challenge in this game :P
But speed runs actually gives to 1.0 a higher challenging level. The problem is that it made players become elitists with some classes... at this point, let's just not lie ourselves either: there will always be a better party setting than others for certain content. That can't be removed, if not there is no reason for jobs/specializations but the idea is that everyone could have a chance to make them...
Everyone can't be pleased with the same... so SE will try to please everyone with "options"...

This is what made Nyzul perfect in XI, it had varying objectives as you climbed the floors though some can repeat (i.e kill all can repeat 5+ times given it's random lol)..Uncharted on the other hand though..So glad to hear about speedruns is going away.
Every time I was invited to any dungeons, it was always speedruns. And I find it way more fun when the whole group can breathe sometimes, strategize before rushing for next boss constantly and never ever do a mistake.

This is why a lot of people say SE needs to look back at XI for certain concepts -- Nyzul, Limbus, Einherjar and Voidwatch are great styles of content the only problem VW has is the reward system, however the execution is great -- everyone can partake in it and everyone has a place for that content unlike current FFXIV raids, where most want to stack BLMs for everything, even on content where other setups work better.
Speedruns are perfect when used as an optional component, not a requirement -- they did however have to make content last forever since you can spam it every 5-15 minutes regardless so speed running is just another layer of completion needed.

I am happy to say to see the one that wants speedrun to go away so bad is the one that unable to get it done. (Ironically doesn't have Garuda done either despite wanting challengeing content)
I for one do not care if they are there or not, they are just one of the few challenges SE implemented, if you can't get it done that just means you are not as good as you thinks you are, do not make a petty post how they are terrible mechanic because you are unable to do them.
The challenge isn't the issue -- you have to do speedruns in order to reliably even get some of the better rewards, which shouldn't be the case, it should be an optional component rather than a required component since as we've seen, speedruns as a requirement for relic works fine, however for basic raiding requirement for even a chance at gear? Not so much.
