StorageWith the new pricing system for 2.0, we're going to be able to have upwards to 8 characters on a single world. My question is what the point of having more than one character in a world would be, from a game play perspective. The character wouldn't keep any of the levels, meaning that all of your job levels will be dispersed between several characters which would lead to inconvenience right? The only benefits I can think of would be the different race (which I find a bit of a small incentive considering the sacrifice of the levels from your main) and as a mule I guess?
Just wondering what other people's thoughts were, are you going to make a secondary character? And why?
Different characters for melee and magic
Play as a different race/gender because you like looking different than usual.
And lastly, having access to 8 but wanting to use only one doesn't affect anyone. Having access to only one but wanting several however, affects everyone who likes to have more than one character. It has a minimal impact of the storage space needed for the servers, so why not?
Can't speak for everyone, but I like to design my characters with a specific job in mind. Their looks/design is supposed to be a reflection of the job I want them to be. So really I kinda need a different character to play totally different jobs. Rayna was originally supposed to be a lancer, but DRG didn't look quite right on her. So now that she's a Bard im quite happy with how she looks. But if I wanted to make, say, a warrior...i'd need to make a new character. It just wouldn't look right...With the new pricing system for 2.0, we're going to be able to have upwards to 8 characters on a single world. I know we can have every class maxed on just one character, but I prefer specialized characters. My current character is a Dragoon, and it's all I want to be. Maybe someday when I have all the best gear for it available I'll move on to another class but, until then, I prefer to just spend my time maximizing my preferred role on this character.
I imagine if I wanted a mage character, I'd do that with a second.
I have several characters...because even though I have a main,
I like to change it up once in a while.
Plus, I like to switch up their jobs. I know it means less chance of getting things like the Paragorns crown(sp?) but I have fun.
My main is a lalafel,
but I have 2 Miqo'tes, one that does fishing/alchemy/cooking
, and the other that does harvesting/weaving/carpentry,
> No Pic <
AND I have 2 joke characters...a sexeh Elezen named Stud Muffin,
and I made myself a Hildibrand.

The only thing I'm hoping is that we get a better way to transfer items between our characters in 2.0...other wise, my army of female roegadyn slaves will be useless...
I would've figured you for a Pugilist / Monk cause of your name, unless they put in Ninja in the game.![]()
