Baccanale,Greetings, Smashington!
Thank you for posting your concerns about the new targetting modes. I can understand how frustrating it can be to be unable to target players when trying to cure other players. Just for further clarification, though, can you please state which targetting mode have you experienced this trouble in? It would be a great help to us if you were able to provide this information. Also, here are the notes for the commands for the different targetting modes, just in case this information proves to be helpful with your situation:

Thanks again for your participation!
This problem occurs while in both Target Mode A and Target Mode B.
UP/DOWN does not select party members, or highlight party members list, while sub-targeting (while casting a spell).
Thank you for your reply.
I'm not Smashington, but I just tried both Targeting Mode A, and Targeting Mode B, and neither allow Up/Down targeting during the "Select a target." window.
To replicate:
- Place Cure on your action bar.
- Hit the key corresponding to Cure.
- You are asked to select a target.
- Try your Up/Down arrow keys.
- Nothing happens.
In Target Mode A, up/down targets PT members, but not when selecting a target for a spell.
In Target Mode B, up/down changes targeting parameter instead, and does nothing when selecting a target for a spell.
At the very least, this will have to be improved before the PS3 launch, but the sooner it can be addressed, the better.
Left/Right targeting is ineffective with moving targets- up/down using the party list order allows players to quickly and accurately react.
See FFXI's controller/gamepad targeting for reference ._.
Greetings again, Smashington!
Thank you for responding to my previous question about which targetting mode that you have experienced this in. While we do prefer that the form in the introductory sticky note be filled out for these types of reports to conduct an investigation that is as thorough as possible (thanks again, Umo, for posting the form on the thread!), it seems that you have provided enough information for an investigation, so I will make sure to submit this information to the development team. I recommend keeping a look out for any news to be posted on this thread. Thanks again for your report, and to the rest of you for your participation!
Greetings once more, Smashington!
Thank you for your patience while waiting for a response to your report. Unfortunately, after a thorough investigation, the development team could not find any problems with the targeting system, based on the information that you have provided. If you continue to experience these troubles, I recommend posting another report with as much detailed information that you can provide, in order to make sure that everything can be covered in the investigation. Thanks again for your patience, and I hope everything works out well for you soon!
