You are in for a treat when you get to Dawntrail then lolGreat question! I’m totally in love with Ul’Dah. I’m still a sprout and a newish player but I can’t get enough of how varied Thanalon is. Deserts are such beautiful, magical, and even mysterious places. FFXIV captures those feelings so well, especially a clear night in the Sagoli. I would love to see more deserts and their variations in the game.
Ul'dah was my starting city so it has a soft spot for me as well! It's where I go for marketboard and casual crafting.Great question! I’m totally in love with Ul’Dah. -Add on scenarios, like they did in FFXI, where we could go back and play thru 1.X story so folks who never got to see it could experience it. And tackle other lore related things that have been referenced but never developed like Gelmorra. Or even add the actual Battle of Cartenau, etc. In these scenarios, we could even play as certain NPC's and see things from different vantage points.
-Limited jobs be tweaked to fit so they can be used and enjoyed in all content too (but I know that will never happen.)
-Exploration content & Overworld Content.

I am happy to see certain aesthetics 'returning'. Such as the animation/efffects seen in Arcadion M12, The Sandworm enemies in Mistwake, Doomtrain (major props) and a few other enemies. Just old school, dare I say ARR-style, fangy/gross/slimey/explodey/muhahaha type stuff. I hate to say it but the game has been 'tame' for so long with default grab bag enemies in yet another temple or castle or whatever, just standard platformer stuff. With the story now having gotten certain necessary plot arcs completed and resolved, I hope this aesthetic trend grows/ continues and features throughout 8.0 in as much a creative way as possible theme wise. Locations that feel hazardous/toxic and/or dangerous just to be there, aswell as enemies you'd rather not come anywhere near you. It can't all be like that, but it should be a frequent theme again. I think we can put away the lab/needle themes now though.
Deep Dungeons. Ideally 2 per expansion (I know that won't happen).
NPC wise... Eynzahr Slafyrsyn.
I still feel like the dismissal of Mistbeard's mythical nature was done in a way that could itself have been a ruse to conceal something. So much potential there, without need to undermine Merlwyb's anti-piracy sentiment.
(And can Ketenramm have a meetup and tell the two they're not that old and useless, please? I hate that nonsense they were pushing. X'D)
I also want the flagship Victory to finally be completed and play a part somehow. Times have changed so I'd love for it to still have it's validity proven in this age.
I wanna go to Corvos. I know, shocker, couldn't have seen that one coming.
Midcore is when you take a look at an Ultimate, nod along sagely to a guide and decide to do it when you get 12 months of uninterrupted vacation, which is to say: never.

I want more open world content.
The return of battle guildleves would be a start. Something, anything more to do in the open world. I focus on Exploratory Mission content because it's the only time the game feels like an MMO now. I like exploring and I like having reasons to do so.
