Ideas for new character customization options!

Since we have news that more options will be added, thought maybe it would be a good time to reinforce discussion about ideas around the topic.

For me personally, I think a lot needs to be added. Imo, limited body sliders/body type and face sculpting options should be available. We don't want for monstrosities to be created like other games allow, but it would be nice to have more control over our character's physicality regardless of race.

As far as facial features etc, I would really, really love to see half elezen ears for Hyur since they are canon to lore. Please SE!

Somethign else would be cool. Vieras could have the option to have their ears wiggel mroe then just movement. Let us see how each ear reacts when im combat. Maybe let us all use beards or some 5o'clock shadow. TO quote a sonic song "Endless possabilities"

A few options I'd like:

* Skin textures - I want an option to choose different skin textures, mainly I want to be able to remove my blushed cheeks as a lalafell. You could also add stuff like freckles, tribal tattoos and so on.

* Hair options - I'd like to see the hair models split up into front and back, so I can choose different bangs to use with the back hair. Also, allow us to have sliders to make the hair longer in some cases so I can make the front of my hair longer if I like.

* Unified options between races, and more face options - Add all the beards(and more full beards), scars, and other facial features to every race and face as an option. I'd like to be able to have scars on my Lalafell's face, and I know a lot of highlanders want the option to have
eyebrows as well. Also allow Au Ra to be able to choose whichever horn/face combo they like, and possibly add more ear shapes to Miqo'te similar to how Viera can choose them. Also add things like muscle sliders to every race, because why not? I know a lot of people would want to add muscles to their miqos and auras.

* Animation/Emote options - highly requested already, but I really want to be able to use different animation sets on my character. All the lalafell animations are goofy and silly and it would be nice to be able to have my character take himself more seriously so he feels like a real character in the world. It may homogenize the races a little more, but I think it's pretty silly in the first place that your mannerisms are tied to your race and gender, it makes the characters less believable and more like templates. This would probably take a lot of work to do since they would need to retarget and alter the animations between body shapes to look correct, but I think it would increase the enjoyment of the game a bit for most people.

Besides the obvious stuff like more faces, eyes, eyebrows etc and separating Au Ra horns from their faces, I'd like:

- An option to mirror hairstyles
- Hairstyle variant toggles which alter certain aspects of a particular hairstyle (e.g. removing the braid from 'Styled for Hire', changing a hairband's colour or an alternate highlight pattern)
- Animation customization (idle, weapon, movement and emote animations from other races - bonus points if they can be mixed and matched more granularly)
- An option to make your character left-handed, which would just mirror your holster positions and weapon animations
- Increase the max height for female Au Ra by like 10%

Coul give the crafting/gathering jobs different poses. Could have fishermen holding a tacklebox in the offhan with their fishing pole on their shoulder. Instea of each one just using GLA/PLD idle animation. Could give each job a more better idle pose like GLA has teh base then into PL coul give them a more regal pose like. Shield up sword aimed at their opponent, WAR coul even lean into teh more animal side once getting inner release. LEt us pick the base idle or use the spectral berserker for WAR, DRK could be given a more better sprint: Have then drag the swor on teh ground (like GNB) and sparks fly frmo teh sword grinding against the ground. GNB would be more menacingly if they had the gaius pose

I'm hoping for the male hrothgar to have the option to stand up straight. The hunchback doesn't really fit for the race. And maybe adding more scars or burn wounds on the body would be also a good pick for customization.

I would love to be able to choose some cute little Elezen ears and be like Hilda! ever since I saw her I wanted to be able to make one similar.


I also want better shape and more makeup and face options and better hair options removing fringe to some of the styles would be nice.

Freckles separate from face paint. Or maybe two layers of facepaint?

Bring back a lot of the features lost with the graphic update as options.

Take all the tattoos (and body paints) that exist as part of armors, add them as options on the character.
