I just noticed it said patch is tommorrow...weird as I always thought they aligned them with the reset.

There isn't a patch tomorrow, as far as I know.
Savage will unlock tomorrow 2 hours after the weekly reset. The quest will appear just like a seasonal event does, where it just appears suddenly within a few minutes of the target time (it's not perfectly on time because the modern, state of the art server hardware has to go through the arduous and resource intense task of making a quest icon appear).
I did a whoospie and didn't do tomes the first couple weeks cause I hate farming them at this point but Yoshi P mentioned the savage is tuned to the extra gear... ops.
Pray for me x.x Here's hoping going in with crafted penta melds and a couple weeks of tome gear isn't trolling people.

Best you can do is make up for it with:I did a whoospie and didn't do tomes the first couple weeks cause I hate farming them at this point but Yoshi P mentioned the savage is tuned to the extra gear... ops.

- Pentamelds (which some won't have)
- Ornate body piece (that gives 5 guaranteed materia slots, almost nobody gets this because they don't have gil or don't care)
- Doomtrain weapon
- Best HQ food+pots (which many don't bother with because it's FFXIV, a casual game)
- The 2 most stat effective tomestone pieces you can get this + next week, even if they have to be accessories in order to get 2 pieces on you.
That'll probably make up for it enough. Might help if you used a tank because then you can manipulate mitigation to compensate for lack of gear. Or you could play a healer where your damage is essentially nothing anyway and heals are often excessive already, so gear is probably not necessary if party mit is in order.
In any case, for most tiers I have beat the Stone, Sky, Sea test for the final savage floor, and I've done it in just pentamelded crafter gear with HQ food and pots. I've done this in every expansion except probably Dawntrail. So if the party plays well they will probably be able to get through the first floors and then you can hope to get some loot.
thankees I was wondering if such a thing was possibleThere isn't a patch tomorrow, as far as I know.

Well I've penta melded and got tome trousers and I always have plenty hq food and pots. Weapon also done. Should be ok.Best you can do is make up for it with:

pentameld is still fine if you are doing maps farming as it helps. With newer gear it's even easier to farm maps solo now. Useful for dungeons and other stuff as well. Once you get tome gear, do not sell that one. Can use it at NPC later to convert to 780 with rains (I assume this is how it's going to be), so can use it for other classes. While tome gear will be augmented later for 790 I think.
