Let us block duties from roulette

It's true, though. What's the point of a roulette if you don't have bullets once in awhile? Might as well change it's name if you want to remove the bullets of the roulette.

Getting 1 of X duties randomly constitutes a roulette. Nothing about blocking duties would make the roulettes any less of a roulette with the possible exception of the case where there is only 1 choice remaining.

In any case I don't see the downside. A duty blacklist is essentially designed to solve the issue with Alliance Raids where there are seemingly two strong preference groups. One group wants to get CT and AFK, the other wants to get anything else and play their selected class. Let people select there preference and nothing is lost, and then in addition there could be more players willing to queue and help fill in for duties if they aren't dissuaded from signing up in the first place out of dread from getting something they dislike.

For the other roulettes I don't see as clear a case for the benefits of duty blacklisting, but the downsides should be minimal, if they exist at all. There is also flexibility in how to approach blocked duties. A true blacklist would make it impossible to get a selected duty even if it was the only thing players were queuing for. Conversely a less strict graylist would try very hard to avoid queuing into something but give up if no other options were available. That would at least solve the problem of getting 4 level 100's in Satasha.

how is it a roulette when all i get is ct i despise it i refuse to run it i just take the 30 min hit every time today alone 4 times have a left in a row how is getting the same thing over and over a random pick the roulette leans way to much in to ct raids compared to any other raids for a few reasons if given the chance i would blacklist them and never do them again the fact people say it's a roulette so you should deal with it i deal with it by taking the hit every single time but with it leaning so heavy in to ct it just doesn't feel like a roulette at all

I dislike most of the ARs, so I never do AR rous, and it works 100% that I never ran CT again? If I disliked the MSQ rous, then I don't do MSQ unless it's during my mentor rous and I clear it to help new players even if other ppl fled during the intro. Then I know ARs rous had their exp bonus boosted, but it's not worth suffering through them again even if I'm working on alt jobs for glam farming later.

There are also things like roulette boards and wheels that are full of options you can land on and blocking out a few of those options does not necessarily make it less of a roulette.

I brought up a roulette where the odds really don't give a different reward tier when played at different odds. Roulette wheels and other games of chance run by most establishments will definitely reduce rewards by reducing risk. Seems fair in a roulette to remove rewards to make the odds in your favor, no?

The games are designed to make money so they must be adjusted according to chance. This doesn't apply to duty roulette so I don't see a reason follow the same rules in FF14.

You seem adamant about making people NOT want to run roulettes by making it as miserable a process as possible for some reason. Someone removing Crystal Tower (that's 3 after all) shouldn't be punished for wanting to do the others instead when that's still over a dozen other alliance raids they could be helping to fill, including PITA ones like Ivalice and Nier.

But then I see you're on Aether and play healer, so of course you don't care if a bunch of people stop queuing up/get denied rewards because you'll never be negatively affected anyway. Typical.
