Let us block duties from roulette

The main purpose of roulettes is to fill queues, in return you get the roulette bonus rewards; being able to block out certain duties would defeat its own purpose, hence the limited levelling roulette setting only works when you are in a pre-made 4 men party.

100% this.It also doesnt matter if theres a 1st timer or not. If someone queued the new monster hunter trial to get the mount, then theres a high chance that you get in there as filler.
Mogry is story relevant, same as syrcus tower, laby or wod. Thats why they appear more common. Others simply need it more often

It would be one of the biggest qol features we could get and solve the "I only get Crystal Tower in alliance roulette" problem too. If that is not possible at least give us a sympathy feature toggle that will block out that duty from roulette if you happen to get it like 10 times in a row.

For this specific problem, I think it would be better to instead ask for giving more reasons to unlock other alliance raid series.

As it is right now, Crystal Tower is the only mandatory alliance raid (since patch 5.3), and Return to Ivalice (personally the second most series I get from roulette) has the whole Bozja content locked behind; to solve the problem, I think having more things locked behind other alliance raid series (except lore and glam as they apply to all content) would encourage more players to unlock the other ones.

That only works if you are in a party

I'm aware, that's why I said an "expansion" of the system already in place because the concept already exists (letting people limit the number of things in the hat to pull from) but it currently only affects a very small subset of dungeons and only when in a party already.

That became my sentiment after a while, albeit mine was from wanting to avoid Stormblood and Shadowbringers content because I wasn't good at doing it, and it felt pointless to queue into those dungeons/trials/raids if I was just going to be dead weight anyway and the group would be better off getting a replacement while I left.

But the 30 minute penalty applies to ALL instanced duties, leaving me with little else to do if I take it, so I stopped... by just not queuing for dungeons/trials/raids via roulette at all. I can't be punished if I don't apply after all, and if my not applying means other people have to wait even longer, then that's fine because again, they're better off waiting than getting stuck with me and it's not like I'll be missed anyway on account of being a DPS main.

It's a roulette, there is always a chance you get something good or something bad, that's what makes it a roulette.

There is overwhelming empirical evidence that the duty roulette does not:

• Choose between each possible duty evenly
• Prioritize duties that people are sitting forever in queues for
• Prioritize duties with first-timers

If it truly did even one of those things, much less all three, then it would not be an issue. If you went to a real roulette table and the ball landed on the same 1-3 results as consistently as this game does, they would most likely escort everyone there to a new table.

I don't think you should be able to blacklist everything, but generally I would love the option to blacklist like 2 or 3 possible options per roulette, except maybe the MSQ one since it only has 3.

Lesser of two scenarios. Say 10% of the playerbase decides they won't do a roulette anymore because it contains a certain instance they don't want...but 20% of the playerbase would blacklist that specific instance if given the option. Less groups end up getting filled by allowing the blacklist. You, me, none of us are special snowflakes.

Man... if the roulette really does its job, I'm kinda hoping I don't need to sit over 30 minutes queueing for my favorite ARs, yanno? Ooorrr having something that I queued pop but because somebody wasn't ready, suddenly 1-23 of those players were mysteriously never put back into the queue again and now I have to wait another 20+ minutes to get it pop again? So yeah, where's my pop? Isn't this supposed to be an awesome system?
