UP/DOWN targets party = good, not while casting Cure = bad

SE, Thank you for working on Patch 16a. I am very impressed that you continue to work on FFXIV during such a difficult time for Japan.

I am very glad you have added the ability to target party members using UP/DOWN on the controller. I was disappointed to find that I cannot use this targeting method while casting Cure.

As a controller user, when I press UP/DOWN I select Action Bars 1, 2 and 3. Then I select an Ability. At this time I am prompted to select a target, but UP/DOWN does nothing. UP/DOWN does not target party members while casting cure, which is when I need it most.

Please make UP/DOWN target party members while casting spells.

what target type ws you using? Maybe that is the issue? But if you can't target peoplwe to say cure them that that is an issue.

if you read the post he is talking about up amd down keys. And being able to target ppl with the up and down keys after selecting cure.

Like if you cast cure from the spell list in ffxi.

As Viion pointed out, the target selection has 2 modes now.

The OP is saying target mode:A , left right selects all targets up down selects PT members in order. Up/Down isn't selecting PT members when you have a cure sub-target.

So before you go on the attack, inform yourself on the changes made to the game, then read and understand what the topic is about.

I totally agree with OP. This is incredibly annoying as a mage since when you hit left or right it will target anyone, including random people running by. I have in the past cast cure on someone who was running past instead of a party member in a moment of panic because I was trying to cure a nearly dead party member and then the resulting mishap caused them to die and us to wipe.

It would be sooooo nice to be able to have the same targeting commands while sub-targeting
