Oh you must win a lot of money at casinos being able to watch, count, add, divide AND play at the same time! Some kind of genius!i mean HOW UGLY is that please:
congrats, you play a statistic game and not a RPG anymore.
personally.. i want to enjoy the game.. the atmosphere and the design as well. in Final Fantasy XIII, VII, VIII i also dont need a damage meter for having the feel that i am a good player.. i know it, when i can beat the monsters more easily than before. and looking at my dmg numbers on my own.
but there you go. "i did 41,992 k damage! im awesome" "ha i have a longer di** , i did 42k dmg" ;D i dont like that idea. im not playing an egoshooter or a game for the statistics.
i know when i do good damage, therefore i dont need an addon.
addons are for people who lack of this abillity. my opinion
FFXIV needs this. It's so painful playing right now because almost noone cares about their damage or DPS. Most of them don't even know how much better they could be.
How is something that allows people to know whether they need to improve or not EVER a bad thing?
Ah nostalgic.. o.o That would be lovely. I always liked how airy RO's interface felt.An UI skin in Ragnarok style for FF XIV would be nice ^^

As for me, I guess my first priority'll be to see if I can use the customisable UI to replace the quest markers with transparent icons, effectively removing them.
'Might keep them on the minimap/area map though. I flip-flop on the subject of their being in the game at all, but my real goal's to get rid of those ugly floating !'s over characters' heads.

I used to be Noomy...then i took shiva's Hail Storm to my knee...
I will use the original UI, maybe I'll change the position of some action button, but now I dont know which addon will help me in version 2.0
Why would it bother you if someone wants to use a damage meter? Raid leaders use it to determine the fire power of their team. Some people use it to measure self improvement as they progress further and some people use it to be competitive with their friends, such as myself. Being competitive is a part of life (sports comes to mind). It does not mean that numbers are all I see. I appreciate paying attention to the beautiful environment of the game, storyline, etc as well.well for me its frightening enough to see that abiously many people dont care about atmosphere and roleplaying than on dmg numbers. but you are right, everyone can does what he wants to.
well first, its not anyone its just you and many others. secondly i havent played with that many guys who used parsers in the background.. happily.
and i was asking myself.. well we succeded in that battle.. am i a better player next time when i know how much damage i did in a total? ;XD
Is it possible that you're scarred from a bad experience in the past with elitist jerks who looked down on others (which is commonly found especially in World of Warcraft)?
I'd like to remind people that it's not the damage meter that makes players become elitist assholes... these players are elitist assholes to begin with, even without the damage meters.
Damage meters already exist as a third party program used in the background, so I have no doubt we'll see an in-game add-on in 2.0.

ill move my thought here. with the consideration of a few players. a roulette system for HQ items?
just a little wheel to spin if they do keep the HQ system the same. when we are taking a double down chance, give us a small wheel to roll when we hit the button, as we are synthing the double down, and when it stops on our fail/win spot. at least give us something to look at besides just sitting there waiting for our fate. haha
btw.....
what the hell is up with those WoW ui's? those things are freaking ugly...
