    Discussion: User Created UI Addons?

    Discussion.

    Wich user created UI addons would you like to see?

    or

    Wich user created UI addons would you Not like to see?

    I have a few in mind myself but well, i wanna see what others think.
    Anything from simple graphical mods to more informative addons.

    I myself like to skin/redesign stuff.

    Note:
    Try keep it a civilized
    discussion.

    Some Examples beyond DPS & Stats Addons:

    * Gathering Helper - (where to gather & what...etc)
    * Crafting Addon - (possibly recipe-book & material finder)
    * Hate Control - (possibly showing more detailed Hate / Aggro info)
    * UI Skins - (diffrent layouts & themes for UI components)
    * Achievement Tracker - (For better overview of X amount of kills for X achievement)
    * DPS meter - (well, i had to put it in...)
    * Gear Finder - (general overview of what gear is recommended for your current class)
    * Quick-Bar - (Bottom / Top bar, quick-bar info such as gil amount, latency, area position, Anima...etc)
    * Mob info addon - (Showing various info about targeted mob, such as HP, MP, Drops, weaknesses etc)
    * Target Range Indicator - (Well this is pretty much obvious)
    * Party / Raid Icons - (Option to mark targets & party members with icons)
    * Music Player Addon - (Option to turn off / change music maybe?)
    * Chatlog time-stamps (old classic)
    * Raid / Hamlet / ? Timers - (General information regarding these)
    * Macro Maker - (Info on how to & general overview of ingame macros etc...)
    * Map Marker Addon - (possibility to mark world map with icons & text etc)
    ....im just making some of these up as i go btw

    anyway, im sure anyone else got some crazy ideas.
    even though the hot-topic seems to be DPS meters / parsers. >.<

    I stay always to the original UI. in my opinion user interfaces are most of the time very ugly and overloaded ;XD

    what i dislike to see is something like "dmg meters" or something like that.

    I don't want to see damage meters. I know it's cool and everything but (atleast in wow) it turned the entire game into a numbers system where if you can't possibly make the numbers then you're a bad player. I don't want anything to do with that kind of atmosphere.

    Would love to see an addon where you can bind your skills to your mousebuttons.
    A nice partyinterface for Whitemages would also be neat.

    This is a reality regardless of UI features to make viewing it easier.

    using a parser in background is much less used than an ingame dmg meter..

    i also do not support this.

    How the hell are you supposed to know if you've improved yourself then?

    Numbers doesn't matter if the game design remain the same. DPS-checks are barely used in XIV.

    If endgame however start to rely heavily on DPS-checks, then it will be useful. It's not about being a bad player or not. It's about knowing if your rDPS is high enough to succeed in an encounter. There is no point trying to kill a boss if you don't have the required DPS to win.

    No one actually cares about how much you'll be parsing in EXP parties...

    Something that was in the original 2.0 concept picture, but I haven't seen in any of the actual 2.0 screenshots, was the ability to see enmity for other party members. As a tank it's handy to know how much enmity you have compared to everyone else in your group. Just knowing that you are "100%" isn't all that helpful, but knowing that you're close to losing hate is.

    So yeah, I'd like something that shows the current enmity of all party members for your current target. If making add-ons isn't terribly difficult and the data is available I'll just do it myself.
