    I have the same issue. Since 7.4 was dropped, i can't play on Borderless Window anymore with all the FPS drops. I tried everything.

    1. Tried different drivers but that didn't change anything.
    2. Tried differend resolutions and graphics options that didn't change anything.
    3. Freshly installed Windows and upgraded from 10 to 11 that didn't change anything.

    What i noticed is that im using the same GPU (RX 9070 XT).
    I asked many friends of mine and they don't seem to have this issue at all. even friends with an RX 9060 XT have no issues.
    So it might be something deeper in the game itself that affects RX 9070 XT users.
    Please SE. Do something. Tabbing out of a fullscreen game isn't that much fun and leads to many more problems.

    In Windows, fullscreen sets the process affinity to that program running in full screen, while borderless allows background and desktop processes to also use the borderless process' resources, and this will cause a FPS hit when hitting rates that are nearing hardware max.
    There is a setting in Win11 to set games to turn on/off that affinity for fullscreen, but I do not know if there is one for borderless.

    It can also be caused by a difference in the borderless window's resolution and refresh rates vs the monitor's and desktop's resolution and refresh rates.

    BTW, this isn't just a Win11 issue, it's been a thing for over a dozen years across many versions of Windows and on any CPU/GPU platform.

    Then how can it be that this is only the issue after Patch 7.4 was dropped ? even reinstalling Windows doesn't help (Was running Win 10 before and reinstalled and upgraded to Win 11 today). Having only FF XIV run and almost nothing in the background doesn't help as well. I don't have any issues playing other games in borderless window mode and placing the game in normal window or fullscreen runs fine. it is just the borderless window mode. The game is capped to the monitors refresh rate that you can enable in the game settings.

    Rig:
    CPU = Ryzen 7 7800x3d
    GPU = RX 9070 XT 16gb
    RAM = 32GB 6000MT with Expo
    Storage = 3x 2TB Lexar NV790
    First Monitor = 1440p 144hz
    Second Monitor = 1080p 144hz

    I see both are using multiple displays (OP's system info shows 3 displays) I would suggest trying the game with a single display. Sometimes a game can draw enough resources to cause this stuttering following an update. Also, Shivamoon, the game might cap fps at an amount, but your video card has to actually reach that cap. Your displays are 144hz, a 9070 won't get more than 100 on your 1440 main display... In an empty room... Need proof? OP shows the 9070 struggling to keep 100fps, with a 99% average of 30 fps... Nowhere near your monitors cap. You are running that hardware on full tilt. Multi-monitor setups are known to have those stutters when running the hardware you two are doing by running this game that actually (sadly) massively prefers Nvidia video cards. Any third party bench on these chips proves that.

    So, TLDR, it would be best to at least try suggestions by your peers than bullheadly denying legitimate tech advise; thinking your hardware is powerful enough for the task at hand.

    Edit: double checking benchmarks from 9 months ago, yeah. The 9070XT will barely push 130fps in an 'on rails' benchmark by SquareEnix... So, no. You're not capped by your refresh rate, you're capped by the video card.

    "Barely push 130fps on the DT Benchmark"
    It looks like you are not understanding what problems Umbra and Me have at the moment. This issue appeard AFTER patch 7.4 was dropped. Before that everything was running fine and smooth.
    And yes, at some points or scenes the FPS might drop but wouldn't cause massive lags or stutters like almost freezing the whole Game.
    I just downloaded the Benchmark and run some tests and here are the results. I haven't changed anything or unplugged my second screen.
    Just made a test on Fullscreen and Borderless Window. While doing those tests i didn't notice ANY lags or stuttering doing the benchmark on Borderless Window mode.

    Edit: I also noticed that the option in Frame Rate "Main Display Refresh Rate" is also bugged at some areas. At some areas the FPS did go higher then 144fps and is causing some weird flickering/vibrating on my screen.

    Please post full Final Fantasy System informationen. the log is cutted off (applications are missing).
    Frames drops are often caused by background programs, like RGB Tools, Corsair iCUE, Anticheat from other games, Overlays (Discord, Steam, overwolf), AntiVirus etc. as they interrupt CPU processes.
    Try clean boot via msconfig.

    The game runs as that high FPS as you have configured. If there is no limit (ingame, Vsync or via NVIDIA/AMD Driver) it will run indefinitely. I will recommened the AMD/NVIDIA cap, not the ingame, as its bugged with some monitors as noticed.
