The only time I remember Rescue notably was when this was used on tanks in melee uptime strats for O12S Hello World and Hello World 2.
Because encounters back then actually rewarded creativity.

It's more likely that if certain jobs suddenly had real teleports that let them "cheat" mechanics via instant-invulnerable mobility that Square-Enix would either:To be honest, if true that's really stupid reasoning. If my skill is thematically a teleport (including jumps here), it should act as a literal teleport and allow me to bypass things such as gaps in the floor or death walls. Otherwise what's the point? It's asinine, really. It doesn't even ruin encounter design because very few jobs have a literal teleport. Off the top of my head it's what? DRG, RPR, DRK, and BLM? So what if the occasional random mechanic favors them slightly? If anything that would make job design more interesting.
A. Give every job a similar teleport so nobody has an advantage.
B. Nerf the jobs with teleport to compensate.
I have this insane hunch that the reason they love keeping physical range in the gutter is because from their warped point of view, being able to move so much while attacking is "OP" when it comes to their fight design philosophy of "stand in correct spot or die". Like, they're looking at some deranged metric in-house that's telling them BRD/MCH/DNC are dying the least on mechanics, or getting hit the least in general, so they come to this crazy conclusion that they can't have good damage or they're reliant on RNG/the rest of the party doing damage to compensate.

i love how this thread exists alongside the one to remove it from the game
it gives me joy
honestly when used well. rescue is a saver in savage/extreme and other content.
it can also be used poorly and humorously.
perhaps for the safety of us all and to prevent temptation by bored healers keep it at one.
i still recall being rescued on cooldown on a boss fight by a bored healer whilst i was on bard. it didnt affect my rotation other than when i was laughing (as im sure the healer knew) and i found it funny

I would love warriors to be given unlimited rescue with a 20 second cooldown, clear and obvious bait.

oh lord please no
currently in maps my FC lead chases me with the tank busters. being able to rescue me to them would be .. funny as heck i admit ... but also id be perma unalived XD

If they can't give us a charge, at least let us use it out of combat for more shenanigans, or even a way to yoink players to hard to reach areas, like some lookout points... That'd be a nice change... It won't be abused consistently... I swear...
