I used Rescue twice tonight on DPS that were more focused on their hotbar than the mechanics.
And, it saved them from dying in the raid.
People need to stop this 'one bad apple' mentality.

Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Shukuchi used to be a real teleport? I been told it used to be, and there is even a moment in the NIN questline(I believe in StB?) that tells you to use Shukuchi to cross a gap between rooftops, but attempting to do so will cause you fall to street level, and it is just not a big deal cuz you can just jump across, if that's correct, what it tells me is that gap closers being movement rather than teleport is a deliberate choice, likely to avoid cheese strats by abusing it, rather than a limitations of the system.
Of course, "no teleport to avoid cheese" would also mean no teleporting Rescue, so eh.
Shukuchi never used to be an actual teleport, its always been a dash that makes you invisible. The only major changes to it they made to how shukuchi works were making it so that it travels faster and launches you faster.Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Shukuchi used to be a real teleport? People here just love to see enemies behind every player character and think everyone is out for only their personal misery.
The number of times Rescue is actually used is small and of those uses most are in good faith.
Rescue should be a template to more skills that interact with other players.
Let whoever stands in Leylines for example be immune to knockback effects.

I was that one sprout back in 5.2 that once thought I'd get the faster cast time by standing in my party BLM's Leyline, so I did lol.
Suffice to say, some were unhappy because I attract AoE to their floor grafitti... xD It didn't last long though!

The only reason I can really see Rescue becoming a prevalent issue in any content is if the DPS did something enough times, it convinced the healers they weren't trustworthy. :/
I don't even really have Rescue bound to a comfortable key it's like Alt+O or something. It's very rare that I ever have to use it for any reason... like my use cases have to be in the double digits over 9 years of playing.
I've always managed to use it correctly, and it's saved runs. I just happen to have good reflexes most the time. It got to a point where I successfully rescued a friend I was playing with so many times they were expecting it for a certain fight, and when I didn't do it they died.
Obviously, anyone with good healing sense will trust the DPS to do their thing even if they die. It would take a spectacular amount of tomfoolery for getting rescued to be a common occurrence.
For high-end fights in particular, as well which are heavy in body checks or the raid wipes if you're off in narnia not paying attention that wipes the raid, I'd rather take my chances.
DPS becomes almost negligible in comparison to just being a body to step or stack on thing.
And besides, if you did die to a rescue, it's by the one person who can get you back up immediately. Though to be honest if we're talking margins of error where it was that close, the dps player was probably gonna die anyway, no?
I don't think that's offensive to suggest. No less than suggesting Healers use rescue just to grief people.
Bait used to be believable.

Just to meme on the people who want to remove rescue, sure lets add 3 charges actually and 60s cooldown.
This gsme does not have real teleports unfortunately, only drags exclusively.
e/: I see others brought it up too but yeah, the animations are not indicative at all.
Midcore is when you take a look at an Ultimate, nod along sagely to a guide and decide to do it when you get 12 months of uninterrupted vacation, which is to say: never.
