it is not the fault of a spell if you are not using it as intended .it is a skill issueIt's not good. Most of the time it isn't going to save you. It almost certainly kills people more than it saves them due to misuse. Just remove it from the game, let me opt out of being rescued, or make it only work on people on your friend list or something. This skill is awful. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

I think that doing that has generally just resulted in the sprout gap closing or walking back in and dying. Phlegethon and Famfrit are other examples that immediately come to mind.

I use it to yank ppl who are paying 0 attn and dying to the same mechanics over and over and over, into the safe spot with the hopes that they will learn. Which they sometimes do.
I also like using it to yank a ranged dps who is over in la la land thinking I am going to chase them down to heal them, into healing range. If they leave it again, they just don't get a heal.

This is my issue with it. Rescue is just so slow. A shield and a prayer are faster.
In general, I've rarely had people use it on me wrongly. If they do, I eat the 30 minutes and let them wait for a tank to backfill. That's what their impatience earns them.

Maybe you shouldn't be playing a MASSIVELY MULTIPLAYER ONLINE game if you can't handle people playing in ways you don't like. XIV's combat desperately needs MORE ways for the party to interact that actually matter.
this.
we need players to interact with / assist each other in the middle of the fight. its not a single playee game. its another aspect this game limits itself in battledesign.

The only time I ever had it used on me is someone pulling me INTO a 1-shot mechanic, so I would be happy to do without.
Or when I am tanking and the healer thinks it's funny to Rescue me tankstack into the party at the last second.

Yeah, I actually get a fair bit of use out of Rescue and not in a trolling way. I actually had a DPS thank me once in Snowcloak for it, they kept standing behind the wrong icicles at Fenrir without realizing and giving them a yoink was faster and definitely got the message across more reliably than typing in chat "don't stand behind the pink ones". Other times it's been things like "okay this guy has been standing in the DoT puddle for like 4 ticks now and clearly can't be bothered to move, Rescuing them is faster than either healing through their obliviousness or letting them die."I use it to yank ppl who are paying 0 attn and dying to the same mechanics over and over and over, into the safe spot with the hopes that they will learn. Which they sometimes do.

Though my favorite Rescue moment was in LotA, during the final boss where you have to get on the pads my alliance had 2 people lagging behind, and somehow without coordinating deliberately at all my co-healer and I managed to pull them both to safety in time rather than accidentally double-targeting the same person.
I will say though, I think they should do something like have Leylines give knockback immunity as long as you're in them. Because if you rescue a BLM out of those, especially now with the shorter definition, that's straight-up griefing IMO.
