    While it may be good on a few mechanics that you have a lot of time to react to, most of the time is hard to apply (especially on high end content) because stuff is really fast paced, and Rescue is not snappy at all, with responsivity issues especially on the receiving end. In short, the intent of this action is good, but is just awkward with how bad XIV's responsivity works.

    If the main crux is "I don't want to lose control of my character", making it snappy won't really make them appealing to those players even if it's beneficial to have more responsive Rescue function.

    An alternative that I could think of is to just rip off OC Phantom Oracle's targeted Invuln button, but make them last only 2-3 seconds probably. But that might open up another issue that I cannot think of for the moment.

    When I was trying the new raids, it happened two times that other healers wanted to rescue me from mechanics I didn't know yet (they failed). It's very irritating to get tossed around like that and then end up dead anyway. I didn't understand what they tried to rescue me from.

    I am saying this as a regular healer myself, rescue is a stupid action.

    Also, every once in a while, someone will use rescue and then claim it was a missclick, but I believe more than often it's trolling, I just can't prove it.

    I've died infinitely more times to voke + shirk, so I'm fine with Rescue staying.

    You might doubt it, but it does work if it's happening during certain fights.
    I used to get people frequently attempting to rescue me during the first boss in the Royal City of Rabanastre when everyone tends to huddle across the other side of the map for massive downtime when a ton of proximity markers appear, while I pop Manaward and stay in close proximity to the boss so that I can keep throwing Fire 4s.

    I won't comment about people being rescued through dungeon packs since I have low exposure to that tier of content anyway.

    As a MCH main, I get yanked around more than I would like due to having zero mobility skills, and yet I can't recall a single time where it actually saved me, and I know for a fact some of those times were deliberate troll attempts to kill me.

    Either remove Rescue, or give MCH's a dash/leap of some kind so people will stop thinking they're "justified" in prioritizing their leash on me.

    No don't remove it, it's fine I've used it to save many people out of position.

    Just because a ability can be used incorrectly doesn't mean we should remove it. I mean healers and job design is already bland enough we don't need to prune niche but useful skills away.

    Can we not remove it? Rescue became a standard part of my group's M7S strat because it was more reliable than RDM getting from melee range to their healer for pairs.

    The server tick is one of the greatest issues with this spell. It is great in concept but in reality, it more often than not, only moves a corpse.

    For rescue to work as intended, it need to put an instant invulnerable on the target while it is moving them.

    I would also make it a teleport to the healer, rather than a sliding move. This would address geometry issues and be more useful in raids.

    As it is now, it is beyond niche and a button bloat replacement candidate. I used aquaveil more than rescue when it existed.

    I don't use Rescue because half the time they die anyway, half the time they accuse you of trolling because they never saw or understood the mechanic you rescued them from. I wouldn't miss it if it was gone. The netcode in this game just doesn't work for a reactive skill like this.
