Remove Rescue from the game.

It's not good. Most of the time it isn't going to save you. It almost certainly kills people more than it saves them due to misuse. Just remove it from the game, let me opt out of being rescued, or make it only work on people on your friend list or something. This skill is awful. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

When I was healing Mentor Roulette a lot for weeks, I was using it effectively on a very regular basis. There are a lot of common scenarios where sprouts die and you know what they are if you've done 10k dungeons, and there are just so many scenarios where I was able to save them with it. It convinced me that, yes, it is useful when used appropriately, it's just that obviously it can be misused regularly by certain types of players.

I would say that, scenarios where someone has misused it on me are extraordinarily rare. It's not common enough to where I am annoyed by it. I have had a few times where a healer was pressing buttons by accident and used it on me or others because it was next to another button, but usually they aren't moving a tank considering they can eat mechanics and there's a pretty good chance that they'll pull a tank buster onto themselves, or some other kind of defamation that ruins the pull.

Context is really important. Obviously it makes more sense to rescue a Returner/Sprout than a Mentor. You can observe if they know what they are doing, if they are doing positionals and things like that, or in contrast seem really clumsy and get lots of vulns. Probably not a good idea in High-End content unless coordinated, because there are so many situations where they can beat the snapshot still or use teleport actions like Aetherial Manipulation, gap closers, Sprint, to skip across the arena fast.

I'd be alright with an opt-out from it though.

My personal experience is that it's been helpful a few times and has killed me exactly 0 times throughout several years and thousands of duties, so I don't see it being a huge issue. I've been killed infinitely more times by tanks fighting over aggro and cleaving everyone but I doubt they will remove provoke.

It can be used for great good and evil. I'd hate to see it go though. I've more often been panic rescued to nothing than I've been saved or killed by it.

Just let me opt out of it. Every time I'm rescued it's to my own detriment. It's either a healer trying to help, but not realizing I'm going to shukuchi away, or a healer trying to assert their authority. I don't like it, it throws me off when I'm trying to focus on my rotation. The people who actually need to be rescued won't turn it off.

I think pulling off an effective rescue is one of the best feelings in the game, being rescued is fun too
