    Please add an invuln to S Rank hunt marks to prevent early pulling

    Hello Dev Team,

    I would like to officially request that the devs add an invuln to all S rank and SS Rank hunt marks in the game to prevent people from pulling them early.

    Details of my suggestion are as follows:
    • S rank mobs should have a 3 min invuln that begins the moment they spawn.
    • SS minions should have NO INVULN
    • SS rank hunt marks should have a 1 minute invuln (especially the SS rank (Forgiven Rebellion) that appears in Kholusa) that begins the moment they spawn

    Given the rarity of S rank mobs (with each individual S rank spawning a couple of times per week per world) and the number needed for certain achievements, I believe that the S rank hunt process could be greatly improved by the addition of an invuln to the marks as soon as they spawn.

    This would give people time to get through the queue to world travel to an S rank ensuring that those who want to help kill one can do so.

    A special thank you goes to to Zirnahct Hollkoensy of Adamantoise for originally shouting this suggestion in game today.

    Edit: Since someone asked, on the NA servers it is considered customary to wait at least 3 minutes past when the S rank hunt mark spawns before pulling it. (Yes, I am aware that NA is not the only regional data center and other RDCs may have different ways of doing things). This is to give players time to travel to the world and zone in question so that they have a chance to hit the S rank hunt mark at least once before it is killed.

    Typically the person who spawns the S rank gets to decide when it is pulled since it is "their" spawn and their hard work went into triggering it. Sometimes they state they don't care and then we usually decide as a group what the pull time is. But the bare minimum delay between spawn and pull time is usually 3 minutes, hence my suggestion of a 3 minute invuln.

    Purposefully pulling before the player agreed-upon pull time in an effort to irritate other players could be considered nuisance behavior under the TOS.

    This isn't the first time it has been suggested. Thousands of people have suggested this exact idea on the forums, in the game and on discord. And they have suggested it for many, many, many years. It's the most obvious idea to most people missing S ranks, so I see people say it all the time.

    The problem with it is in how the S ranks actually spawn. From most people's perspective, an S rank might have been up for 3 minutes, but there are many cases where it's actually been up for 7 minutes or even 20 minutes in some cases. They are spawned by players and sometimes:
    • those players do not actually circulate information to everyone until they've found it
    • sometimes they wait for friends to arrive first before circulating it to the public
    • sometimes they wait for other S ranks to die before circulating information
    • sometimes there can be a lot of other S ranks up so they don't let anyone know it's up for 10-20minutes in some cases.
    Overall, though, we have never had more S ranks available to us. We can visit other worlds, which we didn't used to be able to do. We can visit other data centers, which we didn't used to be able to do. Because of this, it's realistic to get any of the achievement hunt mounts in 2-3 months despite missing S ranks.

    In contrast, before World Visit, it took me 9 months to get the tiger mount in Stormblood. In order to achieve that, I could not miss a single S rank and had to set my alarm clock for when I expected certain S ranks to spawn. I would hit them and then go back to sleep.

    Nobody has to do that anymore in order to get the mounts in much less time, because of world visiting and data center travel.

    This isn't much of a problem for the highest level S ranks, because they have enough HP that they take time to be killed. In contrast, all prior expansion hunts just melt in most cases. In order to solve this, SE should implement a damage scaling system, but SE has told us they struggle to add scaling systems which is why FATEs are such a problem in Occult. The easiest alternative would be for them to simply make all hunts max level, always, even in lower level areas.

    It's an open world mob, it can be attacked by any. If you didn't make it, go to another one. I don't make most of them, but I'm not going to complain about it, I'll just go faster next time.

    It's the overworld. So nobody really owns that monster... Not the spawner, not you, and not anyone there. It's always bizarre that people think they have some sort of ownership, regardless of their prior contribution.. It's an overworld...

    Anyway...

    The only thing I would say is that S-Rank hunts should be reworked into a FATE-esque system to be honest.

    I made this suggestion because it felt fair to me. I don't know how things are run on other DCs, but on NA it is common courtesy to wait AT LEAST three minutes from when the S rank mob spawns to pull it. Some people like to grief others and cause problems for them in the game (nuisance behavior is against TOS, btw), and putting an invuln on s ranks when they spawn that lasts for at least 3 minutes would prevent people from being able to be nuisances in this manner.

    The only people who are likely to pull an S rank within three minutes of spawning are the people who actually went through the effort of spawning it, and frankly, they deserve to do what ever they want with it.
