    Suggestion: Disconnect protection

    Suggestion: If you are disconnected from the game, you should have priority queue if you attempt to log back in within a set period of time.

    Whether or not you believe in the DDOS theory (I don't), players who are logged in diligently playing shouldn't be punished and returned to a 1000+ player queue for the actions of somebody else.

    Without a system like this in place, it creates a reward structure for a DDOSer (or SQEX employee tripping on the power cable) because they know they can skip the queue.

    They tried to fix that already within dd. However, with other raids, there isn't a mechanism to do that as of yet.

    Just had a bork on Primal and 3/4 of Limsa, at least, had the mark of doom.

    The meme about "No way to prevent this, claims only mmorpg where this frequently happens" is 100% true at this point.

    The "ddos" excuse has become old and tired and people are starting to see through it.

    The issues are these:

    1. Game keeps the player logged in for a while, in case the client responds. Client will not respond, because it is coded to boot you to the main menu the moment it figures out you have a lag spike. ie. the programming of the server is at odds with the programming of the client ...

    2. If you log in with the client, it says it is logging the "other" client out. Given how long you have to wait, it's unlikely you are speeding that process up. It should be the case that you are speeding it up so that you can login faster.

    3. If you log back in and the character is still in the world, the client should remember the old connection information and simply resume it, but discard any packets it attempted to send and start from the beginning so that there isn't a backlog.

    SE won't code any of that though because quality of life is an extremely, extremely low priority.

    god forbid a disconnect happens on jp, then theyll pay attention to the issue...
