    If we're going to pretend closs class is possible I personally rather have something like class specs where some jobs like RDM or PLD could spec into healing, or a DPS sage build ot Tank samurai build, Though this is so unrealistic, I suppose only the trusts will be crossclassing for ffxiv.

    If I'm being real all I hope for is better Job identity and more class complexity which is about the opposite we're getting with the changes like BLM and RDM get

    I much prefer jobs being completely separate. Cross skills only encourage people to play jobs they care nothing about to complete their own. I see it as chore list content. The players are given a task they need to do even if they'd rather do something else. From a lore perspective, why couldn't job A learn a needed skill as job A anyway? Does a PLD need to hold a cane to cast a healing spell?

    Changing up the stale content formula is something I can support though. Rigid burst times and scripted fights are boring and they're creating a feedback loop that makes jobs and fights even worse with time. We need more free form and unpredictable content which should allow jobs to move away from the mandate of needing to meet some arbitrary 10 minute DPS average above all else.

    I was kinda on hopium when they said 8.0 would see big job changes...
    However then DT happened.
    VPR was neutered within weeks and they kept sandpapering any job that was even rmeotely interesting.
    That's not something one would do if a big rework was planned...

    I expect 8.0 job reworks to be absolutely nothing and driving the final nail into the coffin of job identity.
    And should that be the case then... I'd say FFXIV will go from the slippery slope its on now into a full on downward spiral.

    I'll probably laugh manically and then crash out if in the leadup to 8.0 they announce that they will remove the 2 remaining MNK positionals and also are removing celestial revolution.
